CHAPTER 9

PUNISHMENT
Am currently standing outside the gate after that nice man dropped me off. I just remembered that Ethan warned me not to leave the club and I saw Mrs Helena peeping at me through the window which means she saw the car that dropped me and probably tell my stepdad And mom. Am in so much trouble,that I was too scared to go inside.

If I stay out here, Ethan will kill me and if I go in my parents will probably kill me too "what do l do?"I said to myself, I decided to go in. It's Better I die inside and not outside. I summon courage and walked in,the journey from the corridor to the sitting room was very tormenting .

I stopped at the end of the hallway, took a deep breath and continued walked to the sitting room.

The moment,I entered the sitting room,I saw my stepdad sitting on the couch with my mom sitting beside him and Mrs Helena was standing behind them looking at me with an evil smirk " am so dead".

"G- good even.. "

" Who dropped you off?" I was going to greet when my stepdad rudely interrupted me.

"What?"I asked trying to play dumb but that made him even more angry.

"Don't play dumb with me you bitch. Who did hell dropped you off? Helena say she saw you get down from a very expensive car" he yelled at me . What am I supposed to said? How do I explain this?.

"Cat got your tongue you freak" my mom said in an Angry tone. I shifted on my feet, fidgeting with my fingers.

"Hmm, i-it's w-was a fri- friend"I stuttered trying my best to sound convincing.

"A friend? Who will want to be friends with you? My mom asked not convinced.

"Beside aren't you supposed to be at the club with Ethan? She further asked. I nodded my head,I couldn't find the strength in me to answer her cos one wrong answer could cause me my life.

"So you ran away to go whore around with Rich people" my stepdad said looking at me in pure disgust.

" I have always knew you were nothing but a disgrace" my mom said disappointed. I bowed my head down, feeling tears threaten to fall.

"You are on thin ice now Haneul,one more slip and you will be homeless" my stepdad said.

" As punishment, your payment has increased, you are not allowed to eat including leftovers and you are in cooking and chores duty for a year miss any of this and you will become homeless"he continued.my mom and stepdad left, leaving me alone with Mrs Helena.

"Good for you slut" she laughed at me,she purposely bumped into me as she walked away. I sighed, well at least I was beaten.

I was sleeping peacefully,when I felt someone pulling me down. From my bed forcefully,making me land on the floor painfully.

"Ouch" I cried out. I looked at the culprit to see an Angry Ethan. He pulled me by my arm, dragging me down stairs to the sitting room,I saw Aurora smirking at me.

"You fool" Ethan said, pushing me to the floor

"Didn't I tell you not to leave" he yelled at me his face deep red, frightening me. I wanted to response but the fear in me rapidly increased making me not to response.

"Answer me you fool" held my throat tightly

"Yes y-you d-did" I coughed out, struggling to breath. He soon let go, I fell to the ground trying to catch my breath.

"And what did you do?"my heart dropped,the moment he asked me that question. I completely forgot his warnings and left the club. My palms begin to sweat. I can't endure this today ,I might just die.

"I-i-i-i left" I said stuttering, casting my eyes on the floor.

"Get up!!!" I flinched due to the way he yelled at me,I slowly got up from the floor and stood at least far away from him. Aurora was still sitting on the couch looking unbothered .

"You whore how dare you disobey me?" He yelled at me.
"I think I have been too soft on you"I freeze in my spot,I know what this means.

"Helena" he called out, Helena came running towards him
"Get me the cane"I shook in fear it has been a long time since I have been whipped with the cane. I stood there shaking.

"I-i'm s-sorry pl- please don't whip me"

"I don't have time for your pitiful sorry. Helena get the cane"he said. Helena rushed to get it.

No,I inwardly cried,I hate this"pl-please Ethan,I will never disobey you again". Ethan just kept quiet patiently waiting for the cane. Ethan and Aurora looked pleased to see the cane but I wasn't. She handed the cane to him.

I slowly got on my knees ,knowing that was what he was going to asked next.

The first hit soon landed on my back ,it hurts so much,it was like I was been pierced by a thousand injection needles. I cried out in pain.

"This will teach you not to disobey me again"he said as he kept on whipping me with force. I was getting tired of screaming, shouting and crying for God knows how much.

I felt like I was slowly losing myself to the darkness. He finally stopped after been satisfied.he got down to my level, holding my jaw tightly forcing me to look at him. He smirked at me"say I am a useless piece of trash"

I didn't have enough strength in me to talk,so I didn't say anything to him. Ethan became mad and held my jaw tighter

"I'm a useless piece of trash" I stuttered in pain,he let go of me smilling proudly.

"Come on baby let's go" he said to Aurora,taking her hands and dragged her upstairs leaving me in pain. I attempted to crawl to my way to my room but I gave up the moment I tired,I was too weak to move any part of my body. I soon passed out.

Something cold landed on me, waking me up. I saw Helena standing beside me looking disgusted holding a bowl which probably contains the water she just dumped at me.

"Get up, you have to prepare breakfast" she yelled at me.looking at me with disgust one more time before living.

I tried to get up for 5mintues straight but I couldn't,I was in great pain.i finally got up after several trials. I slowly walked to the kitchen with a frown on my face.

I began preparing breakfast but due to the pain,I was slow in preparing the meal.helena walked in

"What is taking you so long? The entire family are all at the dinning table waiting for their meal"she hissed at me angrily

"Am sorry i-i-i-i will soon be done" I murmured softly. Helena looked at me with deadly eyes

" You better be before I come back here again" and with that she left.

After sometime,I was finally done. Helena walked in with other maids,she instructed them to serve the food and informed them to throw away leftovers.

" The family requested not to see your face around the dinning hall so get lost" she said and left. I sighed,I was so tired
