Chapter 4

After mine and the boy’s shifts ended Steve and I went back to my house since he was going to a party with Two-Bit later.

“Hey Annie, Steve and I are leaving to go to that party now.” Two said while he came into my room.

“Alright” I said while getting up to give him a hug goodbye.

“Can I get you anything before I go?” Two-bit asked while giving me a hug.

“Nope, I think I’m good.” I said while smiling at Two-Bit.

“Alright Bye Annie.” Two said while leaving my room.

“Bye Two-Bit bye Steve, drive safe.” I yelled back.

After they left I was really bored so I decided to just go to bed. I woke up the next morning and not to any surprise Two-Bit was still asleep. I went into his room and made sure he was ok. I pushed his hair back and kinda laughed to myself because he was snoring. I then went out to the kitchen to make breakfast. Luckily it was Saturday so I didn’t have work. As I was making breakfast, Two woke up.

“Good morning sis” he said while tiredly stumbling to the kitchen table.

“Good morning sleeping beauty” I said while laughing.

“Oh can it” Two replied with a mad look on his face. 

After eating breakfast I went and got ready and then Two and I headed over to the Curtis’s house. On the ride over there Two asked if I was okay since I wasn't talking much.

“Yeah I’m alright,” I replied with a sigh.

“I’m your brother, I can tell when somethings bothering you,” Two bit replied while looking at me.

“I’ve just been a little lonely lately, that's all.” I said while looking down and fidgeting with my hands.

“Is this about me and Steve going to the party, I told you that you could go with us,” Two-Bit said while looking me in the eyes.

“No it’s not that it’s just a bunch of people are getting boyfriends and well I haven’t had one since Ken.” I said in a depressed kind of voice.

“Annie, you know there are like 50 boys that would date you right now.” Two-Bit replied with a laugh.

“Yeah I know” I said while kind of laughing too. “But I want a boyfriend who actually knows me and cares about me, not just one that thinks I’m hot.” I said still kinda laughing but looking down at my hands.

“I’m sure you will find the right guy,” Two-Bit replied with a comforting smile.

“Yeah I guess you're right” I said while kind of sighing to myself.

As me and Two-Bit got done talking we pulled up to the Curtis house. I got out of the car and we headed inside. Most of the gang was there besides Darry who was at work and Dally who was probably getting in a fight or something.

“Hey guys,” I said while plopping down on the couch next to Steve.

“Hey Annie,” Soda said with his warm smile.

“So whatcha guys doing tonight?” I asked everyone.

“Well me and Soda were thinking of going to the drive-in, but now he wants to take Sandy, and I don’t want to feel like a third wheel so I don’t know anymore.” Steve said while looking at Soda with a grumpy face. I just laughed at Steve.

“Wait Annie, will you go with me so then I won't be a third wheel?” Steve asked with a pouty lip.

“Sure Stevie, why not” I said while laughing at Steve. 

I looked over at Soda and for some reason he wasn’t laughing. Which was weird because he always laughs at Steve, but for some reason he did not find this funny at all.
