The night flew. They talked about so much, laughed some more and shared more serious opinions on religious and political matters. It was amazing for both to find someone they could be their truer self with and just speak their mind, knowing they won't judge or belittle each other. They had spoken few times and yet it felt like they had done it more. Harry found out Zayn was an attentive listener, asking questions at the right moment, never interrupting his train of thought although Harry knew when he was seeking to transmit his ideas, he would speak rather slow and people tended to try to help by rushing him, causing him to stumble with his words. Not Zayn, though. Never once he did that.
Zayn found out Harry loves to laugh aloud, the hold your belly and throw your head back type of laugh. He had an enormous stash of bad jokes and Zayn found it amusing he would laugh at his own jokes. It would make Zayn laugh, not because of the joke itself, but because of Harry's giggles. At some point, they started talking about cultures and places they have visited and which ones they wanted to go to.
"I think Japan is a must, yeah? I like a lot their art style, I could learn a lot about different techniques from them. They are very graphic, yeah?" Zayn said.
"I agree. If you find their culture interesting, I think you would enjoy The Way of the Samurai, y'know?"
"I've heard of it, yeah. Seems like a great book. You read it?"
"I did, it's amazing. It has a very powerful message for the mind and spirit of samurais. I think it is a very noble philosophy to live by."
"Well, I'm intrigued now. I might as well get it."
"I have a spare copy I could give you if you want it. I bought it for Lou, but the lil shit said it was boring and that if I were a good friend, I would've gotten him the Kama Sutra."
Zayn laughed hard one more time. He didn't know why Harry could make him laugh like that so easily, it was like their sense of humour was the same. It was scarily easy to get lost in Harry.
"I think you are a great friend, yeah? Even though you didn't get the Kama Sutra for him you were trying to help him improve his knowledge, yeah?" Zayn said giggling.
"Yeah, the twat was just humouring me. He read it, but he said it wasn't his cup of tea, y'know?"
"His lose, my gain so I am not sorry at all." Zayn said, dead serious staring at Harry's eyes. It made it feel like he was referring to something else. Was he?
"I can bring it to the show on Tuesday if that's ok."
"Yeah, that will work, thank you Harry."
When their moment together was about to end, neither of them wanted it to, but they didn't do anything to stop it from concluding. They didn't want to make the wrong move and mess whatever this was up. Harry wanted to split the bill, but Zayn wouldn't have it as it was his idea. He persuaded Harry telling him he could take care of it next time and that sold it, the promise of a future date. Yes, he was calling it a date. He hoped by the time they had it, he would be brave enough to call it as such.
When they got to Harry's block, Zayn once again let his gaze sink into Harry's, minutes passing by. Those beautiful green eyes, so sick and maddening. Harry couldn't do anything else but stare back.
"I get so lost inside your eyes; would you believe it?" Harry let out, unable to hold the comment in. He didn't process he said it until he heard a very low gasp coming from Zayn's mouth.
"I believe it, yeah? It happens to me to, Harry." Zayn whispered. "Your eyes, man, they are just so..."
"So?" asked Harry, moving a little closer to him.
