Sometimes I wonder if I attract these situations.
No, seriously, do I have a stamp in my forehead that says "Please attempt to embarrass me."? Because if I do, I want to have a T-shirt with it on it to.
"The sessions over." Mr. Hanley's voice could barely be heard over the sound of my fellow students. Why the hurry? Like, dude, the changing rooms are not gonna run away, stop trying to beat a Usain Bolt record.
Again, my name was called. My attempt at ignoring the voice failed. Why am I saying the voice like it's a mystery, it's Abigail obviously.
"Hello lover girl." Abigail said, approaching me with her valdies, her heels clicking against the gyms sweaty floor.
Think of a snappy comeback...
"HOLY MOTHER OF POTATOES IT TALKS!" I replied, jumping back and making some sort of holy symbol with my hands.
"Oh yes you're hilarious... So where's that boyfriend of yours?" She crossed her arms, and smirked at me.
"Uh." I started "I was hoping for a battle of wits, but you appear to be unarmed."
"You know, avoiding the problem won't help your case sweetheart."
"I-" I started but she cut me off.
"Anyhow, back to the question, where's your boyfriend?"
"I have absolutely no idea." Good question, actually. Where is he?
"On that note, where's your star-player brother?" She looked at her valdies.
When I say bright, I mean bright. Like, see-in-the-dark bright. Like can't-even-try-to-hide-it-in-class-'cause-the-teacher-can-see-it-with-his-eyes-closed bright
"How am I supposed to know? We are twins we're not telepathic." I pointed at my brain, trying to emphasize my not-knowingness.
In Juniors dictionary, that's a word, so swerve and whatever.
She checked the phone, put on some more dark purple lipstick and gave it back.
"How peculiar... We'll I'll leave you be then. One last thing honey keep an eye out for what you treasure, because if you don't someone might just take it." She blew me kiss and walked away, leaving me standing in the middle of the smelly gymnasium.
"Close up Junior." Mr. Hanley threw the keys at me and also walked away.
"I hate that girl." I mumbled to myself as I closed the door of the gym. "Not in a 'go die' kind of way, but in a 'hope you became allergic to ice-cream' way."
**********
I hugged my white coat closer to my body as I waited for my brother. Due to the fact I had to close the gym, take a shower, get dressed and close the changing room, it was 5:24 pm.
Luckily for me, my brother texted me, asking if I wanted a ride home. So now, I was waiting outside of school with a few kids who go to after-school clubs.
Now, my brother's to young to drive a car, but he has a motorbike. Yes, the legal age to drive a motorcycle in the UK is 16.
I love riding his motorbike, its freaking awesome. Hint: never wear a dress. Source: been there, done that. Which is why I'm thankful it's after hours, because this skirt's gonna fly like the wind.
J.J pulls up and I run up to him.
"Hop on." he says shortly.
Geez who peed in his cheerios.
I grabbed the helmet and put my hands around his waist.
He speed up and I notice that we weren't going in the right direction.
"J.J you know our house is the other way right?" I yelled above the wind.
"Were going to eat out, mom said so." He replied, going even faster.
Oh the joy. This is gonna be one hell of a dinner party.
********
"I'll have the family portion of that please." I said to the waitress. She gave me a confused look and then walked back to the balcony. Me and J.J were sitting in a restaurant, now waiting for our food.
I stared at my lap, not wanting to break the ice. It wasn't my fault he decided to listen to rumours instead of his own sister.
"Junior this silence is killing me. Would you stop being so proud for one second and look me in the face?" He said annoyed.
I sighed and looked up "Jack, what do you want?"
"Jesus Christ Junior what the hell happened to you? You never call me Jack. Look, Yhea I messed up and whatever but this not all my fault. You caught me by surprise." He stated.
"Look J.J..." He gave me a small smile "we aren't even dating. I'm just pretending so he can impress his parents. In fact this wasn't even meant to go to school grounds but stupid Abigail showed up." I finished. The waitress showed up with our food and we both started to dig in.
"So... Everything's cool?" He asked.
"Maybe..." I placed a smug look on my face and looked at him.
"I guess there's only one way to find out." Both our eyes darted towards the ketchup bottle.
"Half-half?" I asked.
"If you can make it." He grabbed the bottle and I grabbed my phone and put out the timer. I picked a pen from my bag a did a line in the middle.
"Go!" I yelled and he started gulping down ketchup.
"STOP!" I yelled again, when he reached the middle. I stopped the clock and wrote down his time on the napkin.
"Imma beat you so bad, you're going to wish we hadn't made up." I handed him my phone, the pen, napkin and my scarf. I don't want to get it dirty.
Please procces with caution, this area might be wet.
"Start!" He screamed and I did.
"Done!" He said, scribbling down the result.
"So... Did I beat my dearest brother?" I grabbed a pocket mirror and cleaned the ketchup on my face. Then I cleaned J.Js.
"It seems you are the ketchup winner sister." He handed me the empty bottle, in which he had written my name on. I shoved it in my bag and went back to eating.
"Movie partners?" He put out his fist.
"Movie partners." I fist bumped him.
