Chapter 11: Movie

— JJ?

JJ had an unreadable face, her hair was kind of messed up, she was wearing a black overcoat but on her feet she was wearing uggs slippers, it looked like she was coming from her house and probably without an umbrella as there were a few drops of 'water on your overcoat.

— Hi.

She spoke softly while averting her gaze to the floor biting her lip demonstrating that she was nervous about something.

— Huh, do you want to come in?

— Yeah, thank you.

Emily made room for JJ to enter and then closed the door, she looked at her standing quiet in the entryway and cautiously approached touching her arm.

— Don't you want to take off your coat?

— Hum...yes.

JJ unbuttoned her coat and took it off revealing that she was wearing her pajamas underneath, a pair of shorts and a thin light blue tank top. That explained her messy hair and slippers, she was possibly at home or even sleeping when something probably happened and it made her hurry to Emily's house. Emily put her coat in the closet and approached JJ touching her arm, pointing to the sofa for them to go there silently, the two sat on the sofa, Emily placed her legs on top of the sofa caressing her own knees while watching JJ swaying your leg.

— what hap...

— I broke up with Will!

Emily opened her mouth in surprise, she blinked and stuttered as she looked at JJ, this was the first time she had really put Emily in such a state of shock that she couldn't even speak. After the first sentence, JJ started talking non-stop, she seemed to need to tell everything so much that Emily just took a deep breath and started listening to everything she was saying.

— He was calling me complaining that I should have gone to spend the week with him since I'm on vacation, but last time I was alone at his apartment and he was still late most days because he was drinking with the cops.

JJ took a deep breath before continuing to speak.

— He started questioning me, insinuating that I was with someone else, that I don't love him anymore and there were so many questions that at one point I exploded!

She closed her eyes and her body seemed to relax a little as she settled down on the sofa, she kept squeezing the fabric of her shorts using the technique to try to calm down.

— I told him he was an asshole and he should get another girlfriend, and then I told him to fuck off and hung up the call

Emily released the air that was trapped in her lungs as she looked at JJ, she moved on the couch approaching her and took the hand she was using to scrunch the fabric of her shorts and held it making JJ deposit her stress by squeezing Emily's hand .

— Jennifer, it's okay! You...you did the right thing.

— Do you really think?

— Yes, he didn't deserve you. You're the most faithful person I know and he treats you like you're giving him reasons when you've been so dedicated in this relationship.

Emily bit her lip half-hurriedly, her thumb stroking the back of JJ's hand as she gave her a sweet little protective smile.

— Do you want water or...

— Wine!

JJ bent down and picked up the open bottle of wine on the table in the living room and simply drank from the neck without caring, Emily just caressed her hand and let out a small sigh, she took the control and pressed play letting the movie play again , they stood silently holding hands. At some point they were sharing the bottle of wine, their hands still clasped together as they silently watched the movie.
