Law

"Did you hear about what happened?" A boy asked a girl near Law. Law had just walked into school and the gossip already started. Law scoffed not knowing how people could start this every morning.

"Are you talking about the Straw-Hats?" The girl practically squealed with excitement.

Law stopped in his tracks. He leaned against the wall pulling out his phone.

"Yeah, I heard what happened." a different girl said.

"What are you talking about?" A boy walked up next to them.

"You didn't hear! Well, whatever. The Marines found some bounty hunter guys hurt in a back alley. They claim to have come across the captain of the Straw Hats when they wanted to take his head to get money." The girl gossipped.

"But how did they know it was him?" The second day asked.

"They don't know. The bounty hunters gave a description and everything but the Marines don't believe them." The first boy nodded.

"My dad's one of the Marines who were there when they brought in the hunters. He told me they didn't have any proof so it was probably a fluke. He said the way they described him was as if he was a little boy too." The girl chipped in again.

'But when did this happen?' Law thought thinking to last night finding Straw-Hat bleeding yesterday.

"No way he looks like a kid! He took down some of the strongest people even the Marines couldn't touch!" The second boy burst out making the other two nod in agreement. "But doesn't that really energetic kid have a straw-hat too? Didn't he kinda fit the description?"

They just looked at each other before the first boy spoke up, "You mean the cute boy named Luffy? He has History with me for my first class."

"Yeah he's really cute, isn't he? I wanted to ask him out for like ages but I never get the chance." The girl pouted.

"Not before I do!" The first boy argued.

Something in Law twisted. His heart began to speed up yet he didn't understand why. 'Like you too would even have a chance with Straw-Hat-ya.' Law scoffed.

"Yeah yeah yeah. Whatever. A lot of people want to ask him out. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the whole school didn't want to!  Even the most popular and hottest woman likes him! But that's not the point. I've heard so many people say he's a big burly man that's ruthless without a trace of sympathy. They say even his crew fears him!" The first boy explained, "I wish I could have his dominance and standing."

"Yeah, I heard from my dad that they were thinking about putting him under the name of Marines or something. I don't know."

Law walked up to the group tapping the girl on the shoulder, "Excuse me."

She turned around staring.

"Sorry to bother you but do you know when this happened? I couldn't help but overhear your conversation." I asked with a flat face not wanting to show interest.

She just stared at me.

"Um, hello?" I looked at the guys behind her trying not to laugh.

"Oh!" Her face turned bright red, "I'm sorry! What did you say?" Law watched as she fidgeted with her shirt looking at her feet.

"Do you know when this happened?" I repeated getting irritated.

She squeaked hearing my tone change, "I'm really sorry! It was some tie late last night!"

"Thanks." Law turned around heading to class.

'Last night was no coincidence then. It could explain a few things from last night. Though I can't prove it. I guess I could just go up and ask him plain out but it would be really awkward if I asked him such a personal question even though were not friends. Even if I do get an answer from him what would I do with it? Give it to Cora-ya?' Law thought as he walked into class.

He took the same seat yesterday last row next to the open windows. Not even a few minutes later the devil or angel himself came barrelling into me, "Tora-o!" Luffy gave his big signature smile hugging around Laws' neck.

His friends followed closely behind watching Law's every move with a critical eye. Law carefully untapped Luffys arms constricting his breathing.

"Thank you for last night! Oh, and my brother's wanted to thank you as well!"

Luffy's smile made Law's heart skip a few beats. He could feel the back of his neck become hot.

"Yes. We wanted to thank you too Tora-o." Robin said kindly. "He could have bled to death." His smile didn't fall once making Law a little disturbed by this.

"Yes, thank you very much on the behalf of all of us." Nami smiled but it was still fake yet this time her words seemed to be more sincere and kinder.

"You're welcome but my name's not Tora-o it's-"

"Yohohoho. The Surgeon of Death, Trafalgar D. Water Law, immediate family of the Underground Mafia, Donquixote family. One of the worst and most infamous Mafia groups in the 'New World'," Brook said leaning over and saying just loud enough for the small group to hear.

Luffy's crew became tense and almost cautious of Law as if he was going to lash out at them at any second. The only ones that didn't were Robin, Brook, and of course Luffy who had no idea of what was happening. He was currently breading Namis hair not hearing a lick of what Brook said.

"You mean the really scary people that sell guns and other things to wars and stuff like that!" Ussop was practically shaking, "Let's not ever mention this to Luffy." He said more quietly making Law wonder why he would say that.

"I have no connections with the Donquixote Family except Doflamingo-ya is my dad's brother, Corazon-ya. He keeps me out of the family but everything else is true." I started tired of this topic.

"Ah! You must mean Rosinante, commander of the same unit chief Garp is in." Sanji mentioned looking over to Luffy.

At that moment Luffy made a face of displeasure shivering just at the name. Law was confused but before he could ask any questions Brook stood up, "Let's start class shall we? Yohohoh!"

Law sighed as everyone turned to the front yet still give side glares at Law every once in a while. Luffy still played with Namis hair putting it up in different styles of braids. Robin would even give him fake flowers to put in. He laid his head down watching Luffy braid Namis hair not being able to choose just one look before deciding on a simple Braided Chignon with a red flower off to the side. Next, he moved over to Robin trying out different braids till he found the right one. Finally settling for a hidden half-up braid with a line of violet flowers. To his surprise, Luffy was actually good at doing hair. Finally done with Rodins he moved to Usopp.

'Seems there's still a lot I don't know about Straw-Hat-ya' Law thought looking out the window and letting sleep overtake him.
