Marco

Marco got a call for Luffy to pick him up but Marco could tell something was wrong so he took Ace with him. They found Luffy crying and were able to calm him down but he didn't want to come out of his room when he got back.

Ace walked out of Luffy's room looking furious, "I need to talk to you."

Quickly he grabbed Marco's arm pulling him out of the house. 'This isn't going to be good.'

"Look at this!" Ace growled shoving Luffy's phone into his face once they got outside.

Marco read the text from Law in disbelief, "This isn't good."

"I'm going to kill him! I knew he was no good! You never trust anyone from the Donquixote Family!" Ace gripped the wooden railing making it whine.

"What else did he say?" There was something that he felt was off but couldn't place it.

"What does it matter?!" Ace yelled.

Marco looked at Ace with a serious face making Ace huff looking away.

"Lu said that Tora-o had him were just fine but when Lu walked away Tora-o disappeared. When he found him he was talking with some guys about them wanting him back in the market or something I think. I couldn't understand him. He had his face stuffed in Tora-o damned hat." Ace slammed his fist on the railing.

"They want Law to go back to the Black Market." Marco sighed.

"What?!" Ace turned to Marco quickly, "If he was in the Black Market why didn't you say anything?! I wouldn't have let him-"

"That's what he's doing now." Marco cut Ace off, "He's trying to protect Luffy. I bet they gathered info on him and black-mailed him or threatened him. He already told me about this."

FlashBack one day before

Marco

Marco walked out of a patient's room noticing he hadn't seen Law for almost all day. He headed to Law's office finding him staring at a document but Marco could tell he wasn't paying attention.

"What's up with you?" Marco took a seat in front of Law.

"Wondering If I made a bad division." Law groaned.

"What do you mean? Luffy?" Marco quirked a brow.

"Yeah." Law breathed.

"Why?"

"You know my family ties! You know what I've done up till this point! You know how many people I've pissed off or how many people will do anything to get their hands on me!" Law stood up pacing the room.

"You're worried someone will tie you to Luffy and go after him or someone with ties to him so they can corner you." Marco gave an educated guess.

"Yes." Law stopped rubbing his temples, "I don't want him to get hurt because he's associated with me."

End of Flashback

Marco sighed finishing the story. He felt bad for Luffy but it was honestly the best with almost the entire Underworld after him. Then it hit him like a truck, the realization of why Law didn't explain anything to Luffy and cut him off without a word.

"Damn him" Marco cursed furiously.

"What?"

"The reason why he didn't explain anything to Luffy and why he left as quickly as he did without a word was to make Luffy forget about him," Marco explained.

"Okay, but why have Lu hate him?" Ace was confused.

"He's going to rejoin the black fucking market to keep Luffy and anyone tied to Luffy safe! If He doesn't the black market will sell all information they've collected on Law and Luffy and sell it to destroy all of us. Either way Law goes it's a win-win for them!"

At that moment the apartment door opened.

Luffy

Luffy heard Ace leave the room. He wasn't crying anymore but his world felt like it was crumbling around him. "Koala was right. It does hurt but I don't know why." Luffy mumbled to himself. He'd been clutching Law's hat for a while. Ace told Luffy to throw it out or better yet burn it and say good riddance. But Luffy couldn't help but feel like this was his fault. Did Law see him spying on him about his personal stuff and now he couldn't trust him? It tore Luffy up to think about but it didn't feel right for some reason.

"I need to talk to you." Luffy heard Ace growl at Marco.

Quickly Luffy jumped up opening his door when he heard the front door close putting Law's hat on his head. He ran to the front door grabbed a cup off the table putting it up to the door. He heard the entire conversation about Law going with the Black Market to protect him and what he said to Marco. Luffy felt oldy relieved by this. He was glad Law didn't hate him but he was still made at LAw not asking for help either. Luffy was sure Law knew who he truly was by now, right?

Luffy opened the front door to see Marco and Ace looking at him, "I want to go find him." Luffy demanded.

Ace's eyes jumped from Luffy to the cup in his hand and sighed, "You heard all of that, didn't you."

"Heard what?" Sabo said huffing.

"Luffy are you okay?!" Koala asked.

"Captain!" Nami, Usopp, and Robin said running up behind Sabo and Koala. Soon Franky, Brook, Zoro, Sanji, Jimbe, and Chopper came towards them too all looking worried and furious.

"I knew he was no good. Now I have a reason to cut his throat open." Zoro growled.

"I get to bash his skull in first with my shoot style," Sanji interjected.

Zoro and Sanji glared at each other before getting up in each other's faces ready to fight but Marco clapped his hands, "Okay okay. No one's doing anything to Law and for a good reason. And if you want to hear it you are welcome to listen."
