"This is very troubling indeed," Esmeralda said, examining the crescent tattoo on Wyatt's forearm.

"How troubling can this be? My brother bears the mark of the Great Alpha!" Willa growled.

Esmeralda sighs, staring at Wyatt, "You weren't supposed to carry the mark. I know that for a fact."

Wyatt frowns, "I don't understand. Why would I be the Great Alpha? Why would the Moon Goddess choose me?"

"I don't know but from my understanding, your sister was supposed to be the Great Alpha."

"What?!" Both Willa and Wyatt exclaimed in unison, "How?!"

Esmeralda stood up from the chair, "Wait here. I'll show you. I'll be back." She said as she headed towards the home library that is down the hall from the living room.

Once she officially left the room, Wyatt touched his crescent tattoo, sighing, "This is crazy. Not that I ever thought that I would be the Great Alpha."

"You're telling me. And what did she mean by that I'm supposed to be the Great Alpha? This just doesn't make any sense." Willa shook her head.

"Yeah. I thought the role of the Great Alpha was never passed down to a werewolf unless they were a direct descendent of the Moon Goddess, at least that's what the elders told us when we were pups." Wynter mentioned it to them as she remembered the piece of information.

Wyatt nods, "Mhm. The elders clearly told us that none of us werewolves in the den were a descendant of the Moon Goddess. If we were, we would've been born with white hair and carry the mark of the Great Alpha the moment we turn 16."

"So, that begs the question; Why would Wyatt be the Great Alpha if he wasn't born with white hair?" Willa inquired.

"I guess we'll know the answer when Esmeralda comes back," Wyatt said, looking over at Zed, who was sitting next to him on the couch, "Zed, are you okay? You've been quiet the whole time."

Zed snapped out of his thoughts, "I-I'm fine. It's just- it's just weird to see my grandmother again after a long time, you know?" He admitted honestly.

Wyatt gently held his hand in his, "I know. But, I'm here for you all the way, okay?"

Zed nodded and saw his grandmother coming back into the living room, carrying a large book in her arms, "I'm back." She placed the book on the table so that everyone could see it.

" 'History of the Lunar Clans,' " Zed read the cover of the book, surprising everyone except his grandmother because the title itself was written in Latin.

"You can read Latin?" Wyatt asked, amazement in his voice as he grinned.

Zed chuckles nervously, "Yeah. I can't believe I didn't tell you."

"What else are you hiding from me, zombie?" Wyatt teased with a smirk.

Zed blushed and Wyatt couldn't help but chuckle as he kissed his cheek, "You're so cute."

Esmeralda smiles at their interaction. It made her happy to see her grandson in love. Especially with Alpine's grandson. Oh, how she missed her dear friend.

She sighed. Alpine was a strong Alpha who always did what was right, even if it meant sacrificing herself to save the ones she loved most. Her grandchildren.

Esmeralda beams as she remembered how Alpine would speak highly of Willa and Wyatt whenever she came to visit her in the wolf den. With pride and great love she had for the twins.

Esmeralda then frowned. She missed those good days.

"Ugh, can you two stop being mushy just for one minute?!" Willa growled, breaking Esmeralda out of her thoughts.
