Ever since Kion left, Rani wasn't the same. She never went on patrol anymore. She hardly ate, or drank. She cried all the time and spent all day in the tree.

Ananda walked into the tree, to Rani's section, "Rani?" Rani was in the corner, crying lightly.

Ananda walked into Rani's part of the tree. She sat down, "Look, I know you are upset that Kion left, but you need to get over it."

"Siwezi! (I can't)" Rani shouted. "Why not? He just saved us. It's not like we are going to war again," Ananda looked at her daughter curiously.

Rani rolled over and looked at her mother, "I-I like him." "We all do. He saved our kingdom," Ananda replied. "No mom, not like that. Nampenda (I love him)" Rani started crying again.

Ananda was shocked, "I didn't know." Rani sighed and stood up. She wiped away her tears with her paw, "It doesn't matter anymore. He's gone."

"Hey it's ok. He said he would visit. In the mean time, why don't you enjoy yourself. Hang out with your brother or your friends. Maybe go on patrol. You shouldn't worry about anything right now. You need a break," Ananda explained.

Rani smiled, "Alright mom." She ran out of of tree.

Rani purred a bit at the warmth of the sun on her fur. She had missed the heat. After all, she was in the tree forever.

"I just need to get over it, and enjoy life. My lush life."

Rani looked up into the sky. No clouds were in sight. It was the nicest day the tree has had in a while.

Rani fell asleep, the warm sun soaking into her fur.

When she woke up again, it was already nightfall. Rani stood up and looked at the sky. She smiled when she saw Kion, but he went away. "I'm hallucinating," Rani said quietly. She looked back at the sky.

"I hope you come back Kion," She whispered.

"Please

"Please...come back..."

"What did I say Rani," Ananda chuckled and sat beside her.

"Sorry mom. I tried to not think about him. But after a while he came back into my mind," Rani apologized, though she didn't mean it.

"Hey don't worry about it. It is ok. Just don't let him distract you from your duties," Ananda said. "Huh?" Rani looked at her mother confused.

"Rani you were just staring at nothing. I know you had a hallucination about him. Just...keep doing your chores ok?" Ananda asked.

Rani looked embarrassed, but nodded. Ananda smiled and walked off. Rani layed down.

"Kion...." She whispered and drifted away into sleep.
