Skylar's mom only had enough money to stay in the hotel for 3 nights, and to the streets it was. Skylar's mom wanted to look for a job and a place to live but she was so weak that in some moments she couldn't even walk. They found a nice little corner an alleyway, they used blankets that were given to homeless people from a charity.
One day Skylar has an idea.
"I'll be right back" she said
Alex asked "where are you going?" "To find you guys some food" she said "it's been a while since you guys had a nice sandwich, don't you think?" And she ran off.
Skylar ran as fast as she could to get to the other side of the city, her plan wasn't smart but she had to help her mom and brothers, she couldn't just let them suffer. So she put on her hood and started walking like everyone else around her. She then slowly reached towards a woman's purse to reach inside and... SNATCH. She tried to sneakily walk away but the husband happen to notice Skylar with his wife's wallet. "HEY!" He yelled "Get back here!"
Skylar started running and the man chased her, but too bad for the man because Skylar was fast.
When she finally lost him, she hid in an alley just in case. She opened the wallet and pulled out the money, "this man chased me for more than a city block for $9" she sighed. That should be good to buy them something to eat.
After a few minutes she went back to her family in the alley with some food. Her brothers were happy to see that she had a bag of fresh food.
"Is this for us?" asked her mother.
"Yeah I had a few bucks and bought you guys some food" said Skylar.
"Where is your food?" asked Elijah "what are you gonna eat?"
"I already ate, this is for you guys" (she lied btw)
Micheal asked in an upset tone "so you ate before us? While we were hungry?"
Skylar's mom snapped at him "Hey she brought us food! Now eat it."
Skylar chuckled. Turned to look at Micheal and said "I'm just a bitch I guess"
"Hey, watch your language" said her mother
Skylar laughed as she leaned against the wall where Alex and Elijah fell asleep while laying on her, and Micheal fell asleep on his mom. They all drifted off to sleep.
Skylar snuck off the next day to try and get more money but obviously she wasn't very good at pickpocketing. She continued to do this for a while. Most everyone chased her but never catch her until one day she had bad luck. She was chased into an alley, she had no where else to go. The guy she stole from was pissed, "your just asking for me to beat the hell out of you aren't you?" He said. Skylar smiled, "bring it" she said...
Skylar was out of breath and on the floor. "Don't ever fuck with me again" said the man. He kicked her once more in the stomach then walked away. Skylar smiled, "jokes on you I still have your money" she said to herself. She got up and leaned against the wall, she had bruises on her arms and legs, and her nose was bleeding. "I really got my ass beat" she said as she was holding her arms in pain "now let's see how much I got. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a 20 dollar bill, Jackpot, she hadn't seen what she grabbed from him until now. With this money and some other money she grabbed and she a total of $43 dollars. "That should be good enough for today" she said as she wiped her nose and put on her hoodie.
She went to buy her family food again and saved the rest for tomorrow, she had enough to buy herself some food as well. She went to take the food to her family and they once again thanked her.
"Where are you getting the money for food?" asked her mom.
"I found a small job" said Skylar
"Really? What do you do?"
"I basically help out a little bit and get paid for what I did. Carry boxes, clean windows, etc etc"
"How much do they pay you" they pay me specifically on what I did" " it's not much but at least we can buy food with this" said Skylar
This went on for a few weeks, she kept getting caught by people and had to fight then in an alley. After a while she started getting the hang of fighting, she could even take down a group of guys by herself. Sometimes she would find herself outside of city dojos, she didn't know what she was watching but she was a visual learner, she liked what she saw.
One day after being cornered in yet another corner and beating the crap out of people. A certain man had witnessed the whole thing, Skylar saw him and tried to hide her face, but the man said "I like your fighting skills, your pretty good, impressive."
"What's it to you" said Skylar looking at him over her shoulder.
"How would you like to do a job for me?" He asked "I'll pay you however much you want"
"Not interested" said Skylar, walking away.
"Well it least think about it" he said, handing her what seemed to be a business card,"give me a call in case you reconsider" and he walked off.
Skylar looked at the card, it looked very fancy but it only had his name and his number. She shoved it in her pocket and walked away.
She decided that it was about time to head back to her family, but the worst was yet to come.
When she finally reached them she saw her brothers crying, they were panicking. She saw that they were crying towards their mother, she was having trouble breathing, she looked like she was going to pass out. Skylar picked up her mom and told her brothers to follow her.
"Cmon" she said, "he have to get her to a hospital"
