Chapter 12: caught?

Suddenly the door slammed shut.

She quickly turned around to look. All of a sudden alarms started going off, "Intruder Alert, I repeat Intruder Alert"

Skylar guess was that they had finally found the guy the knocked out outside. The slipped the envelope into her suit and put everything back how it was. She then walked up to the door, doing a quick stretch, Well this is what you trained for she thought to herself. She grabbed her knife and opened the door, she wasn't going to able to go through the vent she came out up because she couldn't reach it, she was going to have to find one she could reach and quick! She stepped over the man knocked out on the ground and stared creeping quietly around. She leaned against a corner and looked over her shoulder to she if anyone was there, gripping tightly her knife. 

She heard guys running down the perpendicular hall, she hid herself more so that she wouldn't be seen. She could hear that some of them were talking, "Some apparently broke in! Check the boss' office!" Skylar slightly chuckled to herself, she was not close to the office so if they ran over there then that would be the perfect opening. She quietly ran down the hall and looked over her shoulder to look down the hall again. There was a vent she could reach but the was were two guys there as well. Skylar rolled her eyes, why couldn't they have ran off with the other guys. 

Well, it was now or never. She started running towards them at full speed. 

She threw her knife at them, catching them off guard. She then jumped and kicked off the wall and wrapped her legs around the back of one guys next, choking him. The other guy shot at Skylar but missed, not wanting to shoot his partner. Skylar, while hanging upside down from the guy's neck, grabbed a ninja star out of a pocket in her suit and threw it full force at the man, hitting him straight in his shoulder. Without hesitation she then grabbed her knife from out of the wall, sat up straight while still choking the guy, quickly covered his mouth with one hand and with the other she stabbed him, piercing through the shoulder and above his collarbone. 

The other man grabbed around Skylar's neck to choke her, Skylar released the guy's neck but then kicked the back of his head making him hit face first into the wall really hard. With the forced the had used to kick off the guy, that also helped her pulse herself back, making the man choking her fall back and hit the wall as well. The man let go of Skylar and she quickly adjusted herself to jump away from him but still have enough distance to kick him, using her heel, right on the side of his head, knocking him out. They were down. She quickly went to reach for her knife and star and heard running coming towards her, she knew they must have heard the gunshots. She climbed up into the vent which was just small enough for her to fit, the grown men could not. 

The vent connected above the room next to the hall, she had just barely started crawling when she heard yelling. "Don't think that you can get away, anyone who breaks in here is punished by death" Skylar covered her face and laid on her back, suddenly many gunshots her heard, shooting straight into the vent where Skylar was. Her suit was in fact bulletproof but it did not completely over her face so that her was her priority. The bullets still hit her but they did not pierce through, they still hurt like a bitch though. Skylar's heart was beating really fast, and she was breathing hard but quietly. Suddenly everything got quiet, Skylar assumed that he must have ran out of bullets and she quietly started crawling again. She heard yelling again but her brain was so foggy but the loud sounds of gunshots, but she did not stop, she wanted to get out now. 

She followed along the vent until she made it to the one that makes it out the roof. She quietly popped her head out to see if anyone was guarding from the roof, and there was, but only one. She slowly climbed out the vent, to not make any noise, and slowly crept up to the man. "Long day am I right?" she said behind the man, he suddenly turned around to look at her but Skylar punched him straight on the side of his head, immediately knocking him out. He fell to the floor. She looked around to see if anyone was outside, there was no one. She jumped down to an outside balcony and quickly jumped over the railing to jump onto the lawn and she ran through the area where she first came in, so that she wouldn't be seen by any cameras. She ran away without stopping, she did it, but she did not stop running. She kept running and running without stopping. 

Eventually she ran all to Caesar's place without realizing it, she stopped and took a breath and ran inside and closed the door behind her. She took off the part of the suit that covered her face, still breathing hard. All of sudden she heard Caesar's voice, she looked up at him. "Soo... you did it" he said. Skylar relaxed a little realizing that it was over. She started laughing, she couldn't control herself and just kept laughing, she crouched down, tensing her thighs. It did help since she had been running this whole time. She finally calmed down and stood up again. 

"So you completed your mission" Caesar said again, "How do you feel" 

"I can't tell if I cam shocked by everything that just happened or happy that it's over" she replied

"Or.. kind of excited, like a rush.. an adrenaline rush, feels good" she said

"I bet it was exciting, I watched it all on the cameras, even I was scared" said Caesar. They both laughed. "Well" he said, "let's get you out of that suit so that I can clean it up, you can use my shower if you'd like". After getting out of the suit Skylar headed to the bathroom, she turned to look st Caesar, "Caesar?" "Yes?" he replied. "Thanks for helping me so much, the suit helped me a bunch." Caesar smiled, "Eh it wasn't much trouble." They laughed again and Skylar walked into the bathroom.
