Chapter 9 - My Parents

"Mum, Dad?"

I hugged my parents. They hugged me back and gave me some flowers. My parents have been away for what felt like forever and that's always been that way. My parents parenting style was they mostly did none of it. We always had a nanny taking care of us because all my parents cared about was there job. I felt anger when my parents come back as they were verbally abusive. This has happened ever since I turned 2 and was able to use my words. My parents never wished to have kids so as you may know Eamon and I were an accident. When my parents come back it makes me feel like a sort of happiness as they seem happy to see me but soon enough that turns into hate and hurt. The last time I heard from them was when they said "good luck" on text message but other than that they have been completely ignoring me.

Mason looked at me seeing that I was uncomfortable. I went over to sit next to him. He greeted them and seemed to like Mason which was good. I was angry that my parents interrupted the conversation that me and Mason were having so I have to find a way to get rid of them. Mason noticed that I was playing with my hands and bouncing my leg which I do when I am nervous. Seeing my parents don't bring back good memories.

"Are you okay?" Mason asked me. Putting his hand on my shoulder.

"Sorta" I whispered in his ear avoiding eye contact with my parents.

Whenever he comforts me I feel an instant relief and I like that about him. He only had around about 30 minutes until he goes back on set. I liked being around Mason in these situations when I feel comfortable as they also feel a lot better. He makes me feel safe which makes me trust him even more.

"Do you want me to leave" he asked.
