Auden burst through Cillian's back garden, the metal gate clanging shut as she hurried up the lawn to his back door. Auden wanted to get inside as quickly as possible to avoid being seen. Her knuckles tapped on the wood quickly, signaling that it was her.

Moments later, Cillian opened the door though he didn't seem too surprised to see her. In fact, he didn't show or say anything as she brushed past him to get inside.

"I need to talk to you," Auden said, turning to face him after dropping her bag on the floor and kicking off heels.

"Talk to me about what? Your meeting with Jenni?" Cillian responded in a monotone voice. His back was to her as he shut and locked the door, so Auden was unable to gauge his emotions.

"How did you find out about that?" Auden asked, though she already knew. Cillian had Charlie the night before, and Jenni must have picked him up this morning for school. It was only a matter of time before Jenni to open her mouth and taunt Cillian with the fact that she managed to slither her way into Auden's office.

Cillian faced her. His face showed nothing — his blue eyes were unreadable as he gazed at her. "You already know the answer to that question."

Auden's mind scrambled to formulate some sort of excuse, but there was nothing. She had already felt so guilty for hiding it from him that she decided to be honest. Besides, she wasn't here to waste time talking about Jenni anyway.

"I didn't want you worrying about it," Auden responded, taking a step forward.

Cillian blinked, shoving his hands in his pockets, "Did you ever plan on telling me?"

She hesitated, "Probably at some point."

Cillian rolled his eyes, walking past her to the living room, "Probably?"

"It's not a big deal, Cillian. I can hold my own against her," Auden replied, following him. She stopped just inches behind him, intending to grab his shoulder so he would turn around to look at her. She wished the conversation would end so she could move onto why she was really here, but leave it to Jenni to ruin everything.
