The rest of Christmas day went by incredibly fast for Auden. Cillian kept his word and helped her prepare a holiday dinner. After the two ate, they packed up the leftovers and found a hostel to donate the rest of it to. Her heart swelled with joy as she watched a handful of men and women grab plates piled with ham and potatoes. She knew her father would be proud.

By the time they got back to Cillian's, Auden was exhausted. She was lying on the couch, dozing off, when Charlie finally arrived. He bursted through the door, causing her to jerk up from the couch. Charlie ran straight into Cillian's arms, hugging him tightly, while excitedly listing everything he had gotten from Santa.

"I think Santy left some more things here for you as well," Cillian mused to his son.

Charlie's face was in utter disbelief when he realized there were more presents for him under Cillian's tree. Auden couldn't help but giggle at his energy as he ran circles around the gifts lying on the ground.

"I think someone had too many sweets," Cillian mumbled to Auden as he sat next to her on the couch.

She nudged him with her shoulder, "That's the best part of Christmas. All the candy."

They watched Charlie open his gifts, sparing no time with the wrapping paper. When Charlie had gotten to Auden's gift, she felt a slight sense of eagerness, though she knew Charlie would love it.

"Mario!" Charlie shrieked as he stared at the case for Super Smash Bros: Ultimate.

Auden moved to sit on the floor next to him. She pointed at the game, "In this one, we have to fight each other."

His small blue eyes widened at her, "That's awesome."

Auden smiled, glancing back at Cillian who gave her an affectionate look. She couldn't help but feel a warm under his gentle gaze, knowing that he was fond of her attempts to befriend Charlie.

By the time he was finished, Cillian's living room floor was nothing but torn scraps, tissue paper and Christmas bows. His presents were thrown haphazardly across every inch, symbolizing all the love his father had for his son.
