neteyam

this was the fourth school the Sully kids had transferred to. Lo'ak was always getting himself expelled meaning they all got expelled. Well, not literally but their parents always say "Sully's stick together" so that's exactly what they did. When Lo'ak got expelled they all had to change schools. He got in trouble for fighting again. It was starting to get infuriating the amount of times they kept having to transfer, but Neteyam couldn't completely blame him. People kept picking on Kiri. Lo'ak definitely cared more than she did, but it was only because he hated seeing her being treated so badly. Lo'ak has always been severely protective of her. Kiri was adopted and sort of quirky which was a main factor to the bullying. She wasn't a bad kind quirky though, just a Kiri kind of quirky.

"Lo'ak get up! It's time for school dumbass, we're going to be late because of you!" Neteyam hissed. "Mom's gonna be pissed if she has to drive us again and my car isn't working so we have to take the bus for a while." Lo'ak rubs his eyes opening them widely as he awoke "Oh shit. OH SHIT." "Yeah oh shit is right, now get your ass up you have 10 minutes!" Neteyam walked out his brothers room closing the door behind him. He skipped down the stairs to see Kiri at the counter eating a bowl of captain crunch while scrolling through her phone with her headphones resting on her neck. He could faintly hear Lo'ak upstairs rummaging through his stuff rushing to get ready. The pair made eye contact and starting to giggle. Sooner or later Lo'ak came running down the stairs with his shoes in one hand, water bottle in the other, and backpack on one shoulder. "Im ready!" he breathed while practically hyperventilating. Behind him was his mother holding Tuk on her hip. She let out a small chuckle at her son's appearance. "Morning Ma, morning Tuk." Neteyam smiled. His mother gave him a nod while the small girl gave him a lazy wave as she was still half asleep. "Alright lets go, bus should be here any minute." Neteyam said patting Kiri's shoulder with a slight smile as she hopped off her stool scooping up her tote bag. He opened the front door letting Kiri walk out first. "Lo'ak c'mon!" he hissed. "Okay! okay! chill out!" Lo'ak ran over to his sister and mother giving them both kisses on the cheek "Bye Mama, bye Tuktuk, love you." he said hurriedly grabbing his lunch off the counter still slightly catching his breath. Neteyam rolled his eyes playfully setting his hand on his brothers head and pushing him out the door, closing it behind them.

The trio quickly ran to their bus stop spotting the bus arriving at the corner of their street. "Shit Lo'ak you're always making us late you idiot!" Kiri huffed holding the strap of her tote bag to her side. "For fucks sake can you guys give me a break!?" He said in between breaths raising his voice. "Okay let's all calm down, it's the first day, we'll be good okay?" Neteyam assured looking at them both nodding. Kiri and Lo'ak both nodded in response as they all entered the bus attempting to catch their breath. Kiri and Neteyam sat in the same seat near the mid-end of the bus with Kiri at the window and Neteyam close to the isle. Lo'ak sat in his own seat setting his backpack on the ground and laying across it with his knees bent up making sure his shoes didn't stick out in the isle. The trio was silent the most of bus ride to school. Lo'ak was on his phone scrolling through instagram, Kiri was looking out the window, and Neteyam was resting his head on his backpack while listening to music through his airpods. He nudged his sister slightly, "Hey, you okay?" he whispered. She looked at him for a couple seconds before giving him a small smile and nodding. He gave her a nod of understanding back and looked over to his brother. He pulled out his phone and started typing.

Lo'ak :)

You okay bro? - (neteyam)

(lo'ak) - yeah i'm good 👍🏽

okay good :) - (neteyam)

Lo'ak looked up at his brother kicking him in his leg. "Ah! What was that for?" Neteyam hissed. "Stop worrying about me and shit it's cheesy as fuck." They both laughed as the bus arrived at the front of the school. "Nooooo. How are we here already?" Lo'ak groaned while hitting the back his head on the bus window. "C'mon bro it wont be that bad." Neteyam implied in an attempt of reassurance. He stood up and held his hand out for his brother to reach for and pulled his arm sitting him up in his seat. They all grabbed their backpacks and headed into the school. Neteyam spotted Kiri biting her nails and slowly grabbed her wrist putting it to her side. "Sorry" she breathed. "Don't worry, you'll be fine. Everything's gonna be okay. Okay?" he whispered as he held out a piece of gum for her to chew on. She nodded slightly before unwrapping the gum and placing it in her mouth. She crumpled up the wrapper and set it in the pocket of her zip up. "And if anyone fucks with you let me know" Lo'ak chimed in. Kiri rolled her eyes before opening the door to the office so they could receive their schedules. "Good morning, we just transferred here and were wondering if we could get our schedules for our classes?" Neteyam asked the lady at the front desk. "Sure, what are the names? first and last please." "Oh- uh- Neteyam, Kiri, and Lo'ak Sully" he replied with a slight shake in his voice. "Okay Great! I'll be right back let me print those out for you guys" the lady responded "Why'd you say my name last" Lo'ak whispered a little too loud. Neteyam elbowed him in his rib and gave him a quick glare. Kiri held her hand over her mouth in an attempt to suppress her laugh.

The lady came back with their schedules and handed each teen their own. "Great. I have chem first period" Kiri groaned throwing her arms down and looking towards the ceiling. "Sick me too!" Lo'ak said holding his hand up waiting for a high five. Kiri stared at him with a blank expression and turned around to head for class. "No? Cool, I didn't want a high five anways" he put his hand back down. "What do you have first period?" he peeked his head over Neteyam's shoulder. "Algebra" Neteyam sighed scratching the back of his head. A slight frown appeared on Lo'ak's face. "Oh wait, you have lunch 5th period? Sick, me too!" Lo'ak held his hand up once again waiting for a high five. His brother shook his head, grinning, and gave his brother a high five. Lo'ak smiled then dapped his brother up "See you later bro" he started walking backwards then turned to run after Kiri. Neteyam watched his brother catch up to Kiri and decided he might as well head to his class too. The bell rung in 8 minutes so he figured he had plenty of time to figure out where it was located. He eventually navigated his way to his math class and found an empty seat next to a tall boy with long curly hair.
