lo'ak
Ever since Kiri got Benny, her cat, Lo'ak hasn't been able to leave the new pet alone. He loves Benny so much, mostly because Benny is just as hyper as Lo'ak is. Which is all the time. The only issue? The cat is Kiri's, not his. So when Kiri tells Lo'ak to get out her room and leave her and Benny alone, he no longer has a friend to play with. Eveyone gets tired of him too fast for him to goof around with anyone else. And Neteyam spends 80% of his time with Ao'nung now that he has a little crush on him. Lo'ak could tell how close the two boys were getting and although they're not dating yet, it's obvious their bond is much more than just friends. Neteyam always goes to Ao'nung's considering he hasn't come out yet, and doesn't want his parents suspicions to arise. So even if Lo'ak wanted to bother them while they had their "playdates" he couldn't.
"Stop moping you're gonna make me feel bad," Kiri walks into Lo'ak's room with Benny in hand. She had just kicked Lo'ak out her room about 36 minutes ago. He had counted.
"I'm not moping, I'm bored," Lo'ak insisted, still picking at the carpet of his bedroom floor. He refused to look up because Kiri was right. He was moping. He missed his brother. But who was he to take his brother away from his biggest source of happiness right now? Neteyam puts on this front that he's always okay, but Lo'ak knows when he isn't. Even if Neteyam won't tell him.
"Well you can't steal my cat all day. I mean he is my cat," Kiri stated, setting Benny down to roam around the room. Lo'ak's eyes lit up when he felt the kittens small paws scratching at his sock. He picked up Benny and set the small animal in his lap. As Lo'ak ran his fingers through the kittens soft fur, Benny let out small purrs of comfort.
"I came in here to tell you that me and Rotxo are going to the mall, and I need you to watch Benny while I'm gone. But if I let you do this you have to watch him carefully and absolutely no feeding him potato chips," Lo'ak didn't understand why she kept bringing that last rule up. He had only done it once and promised he would never do it again. The chip just slipped out his hand. But he would never do anything to hurt the kitten intentionally, ever.
"Okay. What time will you be back?"
"I'm not sure yet, but i'll text you when I'm on my way home, okay?"
Lo'ak nodded as he continued to pet Benny. Kiri then closed his bedroom door, and not too long after got picked up by Rotxo to head to the mall.
He set Benny down in his carpet floor and picked up a cat toy he had stole out of Kiri's room a few days ago. He played with Benny for about an hour straight before the kitten was worn out and had fallen asleep. So much for always being hyper. Now Lo'ak was bored again. He would call Tsireya but she hadn't answered his text yet so she was probably busy. And of course Neteyam was with Ao'nung and Kiri with Rotxo. Tuk's at a sleepover with a few of her friends and his parents went out grocery shopping hours ago. So basically he was home alone.
Lo'ak had been home alone plenty of times before, it never bothered him much. He would usually find ways to occupy himself and keep himself busy, usually by counting the items in his room or playing tic tac toe with siri. But he wasn't in the mood for a robot-on-human tic tac toe game right now. So he picked Benny off the floor, set the kitten in his bed. He then headed downstairs to wander around, just because. He took six laps around the living room and nine in the kitchen before he got hungry. He wasn't sure if he was granola bar and applesauce hungry or grilled cheese and chips hungry. He wasn't allowed to use the stove without supervision anymore, so he settled on the granola bar and applesauce.
Lo'ak picked up three chocolate chip granola bars and a cup of applesauce from the pantry. He scarfed down two granola bars and half his applesauce before he realized he needed something to wash it all down. He looked in the fridge and the only things left to drink were Kiri's smoothies and the 1% milk they gave to Tuk. If he drank the smoothies, then Kiri would be mad at him. If he drank the milk then his parents would be mad at him.
