Kiri grabbed Tuk's hand and led her up the stairs. Tuk always had trouble coordinating the steps so they walked very slow and carefully. "Kiri, can we play dress up?" Tuk looked up at her sister with big bug eyes. "You have to take a quick bath and then we can play dress up, okay?" Tuk gave her a nod and a bright smile. They reached the top floor and navigated their way to the bathroom. Kiri ran the bathtub so the water had time to warm up and instructed her sister to stay put in the bathroom while she went to fetch her a new outfit. Kiri ended up picking out a pair of black and white polka dot pj pants and a white shirt with a black cat on it. She also got Tuk a new pair of underwear and some socks with lace at the top. She took the clothes and folded them neatly on top of each other, then walked back to the bathroom and set them on the sink. She sat on the edge of the bathtub and held her hand under the water to make sure it wasnt too hot. "Is the water okay?" she gestured for her sister to test the temperature. Tuk reached her hand under the faucet and gave her sister a nod. "Okay, now I have to take your clothes off so you can wash up. Is that okay?" "No. I don't want to take a bath," Tuk shook her head and crossed her arms in front of her chest. Kiri was not in the mood for her sister's shenanigans but decided to keep her composure. "Please Tuk? I'll add bubbles," A huge smile appeared on Tuk's face with a rapid nod. "Yay! bubbles!" Kiri got up from the edge of the bathtub and looked around for the bubble bath. She found it in her parents bathroom and hurriedly headed back to Tuk. She put the stopper on the drain and poured the purple bubble bath in the water. She swished her hand in the tub, allowing purple tinted bubbles to form at the top. "Okay, you ready?" Kiri asked her sister, carefully taking her clothes off and placing them in a small basket. She placed Tuk in the bathtub and handed her a Minnie Mouse washcloth. "Do you want to do it yourself or would you like me to help you?" "I can do it," Kiri nodded and set the toilet lid down and sat on it, reading a book she downloaded on her phone. She made sure to take a few glances at Tuk to make sure she wasn't drinking the bath water. After about 15 minutes Tuk finished washing up and Kiri took her out the bath to dry off. She helped her get dressed and put her hair in two small pigtails.
Kiri crouched down and looked her sister in the eyes. "I'm so proud of you for taking a bath on your own. Maybe we should invite Tey and Lo'ak to play dress up with us?" Tuk instantly ran straight to Neteyam's room busting into the door. "Teyam! Teyam! Lo'ak! Let's play dress up please please! Kiri will play too! Please!" she begged tugging on the sleeve of Neteyam's sweater and pulling on Lo'ak's arm. Kiri slowly approached in the doorway, seeing her brothers give her looks of desperation. She could tell they were hoping she would get them out of this situation. "C'mon boys let's play dress up!" she said sarcastically with a huge mischievous grin on her face. "Oh, fuck you," Lo'ak groaned getting out of the beanbag chair he had been sitting in. Neteyam got up shortly after him all following Tuk into her room. "I'll be right back, i'm going to put Tuk's clothes in the washer," Kiri explained eyeing both her brothers. "Tuk's too old to be pissing on herself anyways," Lo'ak hissed under his breath, obviously irritated. Tuk poked her lip out in a pout and turned so she wouldn't face her brother. Neteyam elbowed him in the ribs and Kiri just rolled her eyes exiting the bedroom. She then went back to the bathroom and picked up the small basket she had placed her sisters clothes in earlier. She carried it downstairs to the washing machine. She set the clothes in the washer and added two tide pods inside. She started the washer and put a timer on her phone in case she forgot to remove them later on. She headed back up the stairs to see Lo'ak wearing a tiara and feather scarf and Neteyam sitting in a tiny chair wearing his same sweater and jeans. Tuk and Lo'ak were arguing while Neteyam just sat there observing. "Please Lo'ak just this once!" Tuk pleaded holding up a green tinkerbell dress. "No Tuk, i'm not wearing the damn dress, I already put on this tiara and scarf," Lo'ak refused shaking his head. "Why can't Neteyam just wear it, he's the gay one," "Just because I'm gay doesn't mean I wanna wear a princess dress dipshit," Neteyam threw one of Tuk's plastic heels at Lo'ak's head. Tuk let out a giggle of amusement and came running up to Kiri. "Kiri will you wear the dress? Please, you will look even more gorgeous than you already do already," Kiri let out a giggle at the fact Tuk said already twice and gave her a nod.
The four of them played dress up for about and hour before Tuk fell asleep on the floor with a magic wand in hand and fairy wings on her back. The rest of the siblings quietly took off their dress up clothes and tried their hardest to tiptoe quietly out the room. Neteyam accidentally hit a bookshelf with his foot, but luckily it didn't shake Tuk at all. "Shit!" he hissed into his fist. Kiri hurriedly waved him out of the room and very carefully closed the door to Tuk's bedroom. The trio headed downstairs to the kitchen to get themselves a quick snack. "Popcorn or Goldfish?" Neteyam asked. "Popcorn," they both said in unison taking a seat on the stools located by the countertop. "I thought Dad said he'd be home by now," Lo'ak set his head in his hands and huffed. "I'm fucking starving," Neteyam set three small bags of microwavable popcorn in the microwave and set it to popcorn mode. "He probably doesn't know where anything is, I mean he never does the shopping for Mom," Neteyam said pushing himself ontop on the counter. "Yeah that's true. Btw, are you ever gonna tell Mama you're gay?" "Lo'ak!" Kiri hissed at her brother glaring at him intensely. "Sorry," he whispered in response. Neteyam stayed silent. The room became tense as no one said another word. The only sounds heard were the ones coming from the kernels popping in the microwave. Sooner or later the microwave beeped and Neteyam quickly jumped off the counter, opening the microwave and placing the three bags on the counter. He opened each one carefully and poured them intro three separate bowls. "Here," he took a bowl for himself and pushed the other two towards his siblings as he headed back upstairs to his room. "Look what you did you idiot, now he's all pissed," Kiri snapped at her brother, grabbing her bowl of popcorn. "I'm sorry I didn't know he would get all emotional. I wouldn't have said anything," Lo'ak scooted away from his sister slightly in fear that she would flick him in the head. "He will come out when he's ready, we just have to give him time," Lo'ak nodded and started eating his popcorn. Kiri got off the stool and looked for their salt shaker. She found in hiding behind their paper towel holder and shook some on her popcorn. She held the shaker out to her brother and he kindly accepted the offer. Kiri placed her popcorn on the counter and sat back up on the stool. They both sat there eating their popcorn in comfortable silence.
