lo'ak

Lo'ak finally caught up to Kiri after a brief 12 seconds of speed walking up to her. "Aye Kiri! Kiri wait up!" he placed a hand on her shoulder. "Leave me alone Lo'ak." she whispered barely looking back. "Hey, what's your deal, seriously?" Kiri glared at him in disbelief. "Are you serious right now? I don't know, maybe the fact we've been the new kids at five different schools in the past two years because your dumbass doesn't know how to keep his hands to himself. We learned this in preschool yet you still seem to struggle at the ripe age of 16. We have to constantly retake the same classes over and over and are so fucking behind on school that we have some of the same classes as 14 year olds." she took a deep breath. "I just wish you would get your shit together." Lo'ak just looked at her for a bit while she held her head down looking at the floor kicking invisible crumbs with her olive green converse. He blinked a little, "Look I was just trying to protect-" "Lo'ak I dont need protection. I just need my brother. Sooner or later no schools gonna accept you and you're going to be fucked. You'll have to go to the academy and we'll barely be able to see you." her voice slightly broke at the end and her bottom lip began to quiver. Her brother looked up to the ceiling in pure guilt and brought her into a hug. "I'm right here, okay? I'll do better I promise," he rested his chin on the top of her head "I promise." he whispered.

Right on time to ruin the mood, the first period bell rings. "Oh shit. We're late." They let go of the hug looked at each other and began sprinting across the halls looking for their chem class. "You fucking idiot!" Kiri laughed wiping her face with her hands "It's not my fault you got all sappy!" Lo'ak shouted when suddenly he bumped into a girl causing her to drop what looked like a bathroom pass. "Shit, my fault." Kiri scoffed rolling her eyes then pinching her brothers forearm, "He means he's sorry. Are you okay?" she looked up at the girl apologetically. The girl had beautiful curly hair that fell down her back and her eyes were a gorgeous shade of blue. "No it's okay- I'm okay, it was my fault" the girl murmured shaking her head reaching for the dropped pass "I should've payed better attention, I'm sorry." the girl looked up at Kiri before standing upright. "I love your hair by the way" she complimented Kiri. "Thank you, I love yours as well. It's very beautiful," a small smile approached both girls faces. "Really? Thank you so much! My name's Tsireya."

"Nice to meet you Tsireya, my name's Kiri," Tsireya gave a nod of understanding with a sweet smile on her face. Both girls looked at Lo'ak waiting for his introduction. The boy was staring intensely at Tsireya with his mouth slightly open. Kiri hit him in his chest swiftly. "Lo'ak! Um- my names Lo'ak," he cleared his throat slightly embarrassed. Kiri glared at him while Tsireya looked to the floor secretly giggling. "Well I should get to actually using the restroom before my teacher gets suspicious, maybe I'll see you guys around though!" Tsireya started to walk off in the other direction. "Wait! Actually, we need some help, if you wouldn't mind?" Kiri asked hopefully. "Sure, what's the issue?" Tsireya turned back around facing the pair. "Well we're having trouble finding our chem class, do you know where it is?" "Well there's two chem teachers, who do you guys have?" The pair looked down at their schedules at the same time "Uh- Mr....Zoomaky?" Lo'ak hesitated "Oh! Mr.Zomaki! He's my chem teacher too, his class is down the hall, take a left and it's the fourth door to your right," Tsireya smiled proudly. "Thank you so much," Kiri nodded. Tsireya gave a small nod back in return then turned around and began walking in the direction of the nearest restroom. Class had started 13 minutes ago so the pair made no rush to make it on time anymore. They walked side by side in comfortable silence until they approached the classroom door. "Ready?" Lo'ak asked continuing looking straight ahead. "I kind of have to be," Kiri huffed rubbing her hands on the side of her jeans.

Lo'ak knocked on the door as both awkwardly waited for someone to answer. Eventually a decently tall man opened the door looking down at the pair with a puzzled expression. Kiri and Lo'ak peeked at each other through the side of their eyes looking for comfort through the awkward silence. Suddenly the mans eyes grew wide and his mouth gaped open. "Ahh you must be our new students! Everyone's working on a group activity at the moment so feel free to introduce yourselves and join any group you'd like," "They can be in my group," Lo'ak look over his shoulder to see Tsireya with the bathroom pass in hand. "Great, the three of you can be in a group, Tsireya please fill them in on the guidelines of the project" She nodded in understanding while the teacher stepped back making room for the three of them to enter the classroom. The class was filled with numerous amounts of conversations and chattering. Lo'ak spotted his sister looking around frantically while pulling at her sleeve. He made a mental note to ask her about it later. The two of them followed Tsireya to a table with four chairs set out. She took a seat on one end of the table while Lo'ak and Kiri decided to take a seat next to each other on the opposite end. "Okay, so basically this project is based on making your name out of elements on the periodic table. I know it's kinda lame but we're only 2 weeks into the school year so it's cheesy projects for now" Tsireya explained while handing them blank sheets of construction paper.
