kiri

Kiri woke up this morning, overjoyed. She had a job interview for Panera today after school. She had been looking forward to this interview all week. She had been looking for jobs that may suit her ever since her and her family moved here. Kiri seemed to be the only sibling interested on getting a job at the moment, so she really could work anywhere she pleased. She began her morning by brushing her teeth and putting on the outfit she picked out the night before. It was decently warm out today so she wore brown cargo shorts with a white cropped tank top, brown zip up, and white hightop converse. She put her various colorful necklaces on, along with some star earrings. She put two rings on, one on each hand, and styled her hair. She heard someone trip down the stairs, and let out a small chuckle. "Ah shit!" Lo'ak yelled from the bottom of the stairs. "Lo'ak! Language! Don't make me say it again!" Neytiri yelled in response. Kiri couldn't help but laugh her brother's constant disciplinary interactions with their mother.

Just as Kiri was spraying her perfume she heard a knock at her door. "Come in," She turned her head as Neteyam peeked into her room. "Morning," he smiled as he picked the paint on her doorframe. "Good morning, and stop picking!" "Right sorry," Neteyam stepped back from the chipped paint and wiped his hands on his jeans. "I just wanted to remind you that i'll drop you off for your interview right after school. I refuse to let you take an uber. You never know if they could be a kidnapper," Kiri scoffed as she threw an empty lipgloss tube at her brother. He dodged it by closing the door quickly and heading downstairs. Kiri grabbed her tote bag and headed downstairs herself as well. She was kindly greeted by a plate consisting of two slices of toast, kiwi, and pretzels, with a glass of cranberry juice set to the left. She knew it was hers because her lunchbox sat to the right of the plate. That's how Neteyam organized their breakfast. He would put the individual's lunches next to their plate of food. Kiri looked over to see Lo'ak eating oranges with two slices of toast and two strips of bacon. He had a glass of milk with his breakfast. Kiri thought that was absolutely disgusting, but she kept quiet. "Ew, Lo'ak! Are you really gonna wear that shirt when it has that huge stain on the front?" Kiri questioned. Her tone of disgust was very present, as she pointed a finger to her brother's chest. "Huh?" Lo'ak looked down towards his shirt when Kiri flicked her finger up his face. "Made you look," Kiri snorted. She could hear Neteyam's faint chuckle as well. "Kiri! Stop!" Lo'ak huffed as he rolled his eyes, turning away from his older sister.

As they were finishing up their breakfast, the teens were greeted by their mother. "Good morning my beautiful children," she kissed each of their foreheads. "Lo'ak you have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning so i'll be taking you into school late, and Kiri good luck on your interview today, you'll do amazing," Neytiri smiled brightly at her daughter, booping her nose. "Thank you, Mom," Kiri placed her plate in the sink, along with her glass. She took a napkin to wipe any crumbs or residue from her face then threw it in the trash. She was glad other people were just as excited for her as she was for herself when it came to this job interview. It was a great opportunity for her and she truly couldn't wait. She was confident she would get the job. "Alright guys, time to go," Neteyam grabbed his keys from the key stand and let them jingle. He finally had the opportunity to get his car fixed so he would be driving them all to school from now on. Kiri grabbed her tote bag and hauled it up on her shoulder. Neteyam opened the door for his siblings as Kiri took the first step outside. Neytiri watched as Lo'ak was about to head out the door, sort of like an eagle. "Ah, ah, ah, wait! Lo'ak-" "Ughhh meds I know!" Lo'ak stomped back into the house, took his meds, then stomped straight to the car. "Bye Mama," Kiri and Neteyam said in unison, Neteyam closing the door behind them.

Neteyam started the car, pulling out of the driveway. "Kiri do you have a phone charger?" Lo'ak asked, digging in her bag. "Hey! Get out my bag. And yes, I do in fact have a charger," Kiri snatched her bag away setting it on the opposite side of her. "Well, let me use it. My phone's at 8%," Lo'ak reached across his sister in an attempt to snatch her bag. "Stop it! I need it to charge my headphones!" Kiri had black wireless headphones she wore at school and in public. They were noise canceling and chargeable. "Let me just use it while we're in the car, you can charge your headphones later," Lo'ak managed to snatch her bag back and began digging through it again. Kiri was getting frustrated with her brother at this point and on the verge of crying. Not because she was sad, but because he was angering her intensely. "Lo'ak stop! I said no!" She snatched it back, but this time she kicked her brother in the shin as she pulled away. "Fuck Kiri! Stop being bitchy!" Kiri gasped. "Stop being such a dick! And don't call me a bitch," "I didn't call you a bitch I said you're being bitchy there's a diffe-" "Hey, both of you stop it! Lo'ak you can use my charger, Kiri you can charge your headphones. Okay? Okay," Neteyam was eyeing the pair from the rearview mirror. The two of them fell silent, with a lame nod in understanding.
