Adriana entered the dark foyer of Wayne Manor alone and wondered how big the mistake that she had just made had been. She contemplated not telling Bruce. But it was likely that Eric would tell him at some point. She sighed. Why couldn't she had just controlled herself? The car would have been found, the jewelry was replaceable.

She took off her jacket, and with her bag and jewelry in hand looked for Bruce and could not find him. After looking for a while, she began to wonder if he had gone to bed already. After considering the likelihood of Eric calling him first thing in the morning about the incident, she took her phone out of the small bag and sent Bruce a text.

Are you at home?  She wrote.

Gym. He replied seconds later.

Adriana had not looked in the gym. She hadn't seen Bruce do any type of training since he had been home and thought that it would not be possible with his knee condition. She found him in the manor's gym in the middle of performing a Jefferson curl.

"You're lifting," Adriana said when she saw him.

He sat the weights down on the floor and turned to look at her. He blinked a few times, and gazed for a long moment before looking away and wiping his forehead.

"Yes," he said. "Just training upper body for now."

Adriana looked at his back as he went for a towel.

"So how were things with Eric?" he said, still facing away from her and patting his neck and face with a small towel.

She felt how he did. His thoughts, his emotions. He thought she looked amazing. So much so, that she was painful for him to look at.

"I...." she said. "I should get changed. I..need to talk to you about something that happened. I'll be right back."

"Alright," he said. "I will be here."

Adriana went upstairs and changed quickly into olive green drawstring jogger pants and a large white t-shirt. She took off her makeup and pulled her hair back into a low ponytail, all the while telling herself it wasn't that bad. She was exhausted.

She returned to find Bruce sitting at the edge of a bench, holding a bottle of water.

"What happened?" he asked her immediately when she came back. "Eric didn't cross any lines did he?"

"No...no, nothing like that," Adriana said. "He was ....great actually. Respectful and decent."

"Glad to hear it," Bruce said to her and waited for her to explain what happened.

"On the way back we stopped at a gas station," she said. "Eddo...the one on 41st and Hart."

Bruce sat up after placing his bottle on the floor between his feet.

"Well that's a dicey area to be at this hour," he said. "At any hour. On any day. In fact, during any year after 1958. Why did he stop there?"

"I asked him to," Adriana said. "It was my fault. I wanted an ice cream.."

"From there?" Bruce asked, confused.

"Yes...it was a really stupid and really specific craving," she said.

Bruce took a deep breath and placed his hands on his knees.

"Alright," he said. "What happened?"

"These two guys came up and one of them had a gun," she said. "They took Eric's wallet...and my bag and jewelry and then the keys to Eric's car."

Bruce looked at her with his brows raising as she spoke.

"You had your bag and jewelry in your hand," Bruce said. "Before you just left to go upstairs to change."
