"Where's our baby?" Adriana asked Bruce when she returned home.
"With Alfred in the library," Bruce told her. "One bag?"
Adriana was holding a bag with two dresses inside.
"I believe we agreed you would spend at least-" Bruce said.
"I did, don't worry," she told him. "I got diamond watches and some jewelry."
Bruce nodded. "Good," he said to her.
"They were stolen though," she said to him.
He raised his eyebrows.
"So you were robbed. Again," he said. "Twice in less than 24 hours. Tell me you didn't do anything-"
Adriana sat the bag on the floor in the foyer and pulled the disk out of her pocket.
"It was her," Adriana said and handed Bruce the disk. "The Catwoman. She robbed me. Well..not so much as robbed as just took the jewelry and watches in exchange for this."
Bruce looked at her. "What is it?"
"She said it's footage from last night."
Adriana and Bruce went into his office, and he opened the files on the disk.
"There we are," Adriana said and looked at the screen. She could see herself and Eric inside of the gas station. "Gosh...I didn't realize I was eating like a starved barbarian."
Bruce was quiet. He opened the second file. The fight was quick, and Eric stood aside and even though his back was to the camera, Bruce could tell the man was shook.
"So..she saved my ass," Adriana said. "And took the jewels."
"It wasn't necessary," Bruce said in a stern tone. "I could have done this."
"She did it so fast though," Adriana said. "I mean by the time I got home she had already-"
"We owe her nothing," Bruce said to Adriana. "And I do not like the fact that she believes we need to rely on her. We cannot trust her. There is no guarantee she hasn't shown the original footage to her superiors-"
"Why would she do that? And then give me the originals? I think she actually wanted to help-" Adriana said but Bruce stood up. "Where are you going?"
"To tell her," Bruce said. "We do not require her interference."
"Bruce," Adriana stopped him. "Please...I think she truly just wants to help. She's obviously not in a good predicament...working for people she is not truly allied with. I can't imagine what she's going through. She's forced to work for...what sound like absolutely wicked people."
"You sound sentimental," Bruce said to her.
Adriana sighed.
"I thought you agreed she was on our side," Adriana said to him. "What's really bothering you?"
Bruce wouldn't admit, it was his call with Eric. Adriana could feel it even though he had not told her about the call at all. It was also the never-ending pain in his knee. He felt irritable.
"How about this," Adriana said and took both of his hands. "Let's agree that...instead of you going to see her and telling her to back off..."
Bruce looked into Adriana's eyes, the warm touch her hands calming him.
"We both agree not so see her again," Adriana said. "You won't see her. And I...won't do anything stupid that ends up with her having to jump in."
"Sounds like Gotham will not be seeing Shade for a long time," he said.
