Sebastian POV

Sebastian watched Ominis enter the Slytherin dormitory two nights later like nothing had happened. He had his wand out in front of him like he always did, folded his clothes neatly and placed them beside his bed like he always did, placed his wand next to his lamplight like he always did.

He didn't breathe a word to Sebastian.

Sebastian knew his friend. He wasn't stupid. Sebastian was receiving the silent treatment. Rightfully so, of course, but their beds were right next to each other.

Ominis lay facing away from Sebastian. His body rose and fell with every breath. They were even, he wasn't actively fuming. But he hadn't said a thing. He kept a straight face. He definitely wasn't easy to read.

"Ominis?" Sebastian whispered after a few minutes of debating whether he should say something or not.

No reply.

"Ominis," Sebastian repeated, sitting up on his elbow under his cover. "I really do want to talk to you about this."

The other boys in the dormitory were fast asleep - Ominis could've said anything he wanted. Swore at him, chewed him out, swore they'd never be friends ever again - but Sebastian was only met with silence.

Y/N POV

Sebastian was going crazy with not being able to talk to Ominis. You knew how much he meant to him, and he'd betrayed him and done him wrong. But you understood how Ominis was reacting.

Your feelings for Sebastian were complicated, but one thing you knew.

He had to have meant it. Even a little bit - to cast that spell - some part of him had to mean it.

You couldn't stop thinking about it. It replayed in your head fifty times a day. Every time you looked at him, his beautiful face, every single strategically placed freckle made something burn inside of you. You had told him to cast it on you.. mostly to make it easier for Ominis and also the fact that you knew you couldn't hurt Sebastian and the curse wouldn't work.

You'd had memories of the moment of torture replay in your mind and you were honestly contemplating asking Ominis for coping strategies. You'd gone over to talk to him at breakfast and he'd been perfectly nice - fussing over you about how you were feeling and telling you if you needed to talk he was there. He didn't ask you about Sebastian. You didn't tell him about Sebastian. You'd hope they'd fix it in their own time.

———

Imelda and yourself had decided to go out for butterbeers after your last class. You'd gotten closer recently.

"I don't even know how to react with what happened," she admitted, her light accent hovering around your ears. It was beautiful really, that perfect mix of British and Irish. "I can't fathom the story Ominis told me. How horrible for you to have to go through."

You shrugged, trying to wave it off. You were lying to yourself. "Yes," you admitted. "It was horrible." You took a swig of your butterbeer. "Ominis still won't talk to Sebastian. It's been days."

"For good reason," Imelda got defensive. "Sounds like he begged for you not to do what you did. What Sebastian did."

"We didn't exactly have a choice," you sighed, defending Sebastian. "We just shouldn't have gone their in the first place. And when Ominis warned us about voices, we should've listened to him. I admit, i was trying to impress Sebastian. I took it too far. I just know how much his sister means to him and I wanted to help him in the search for a cure."
