"So..." Mi-Ju looked at Soo Hyun. "I've decided to give up on you." she announced. Soo Hyun looked at her. "I guess that's funny to say since I was already rejected by you but I thought you would be more at ease if I made myself clear."
Soo Hyun nodded. "Right."
"By the way, aren't you curious as to why I was attracted to you in the first place?"
"I am." Soo Hyun admitted, much to Mi-Ju's surprise. "I couldn't ask because I felt I had no right to."
Mi-Ju managed to smile as she began her story. "I first saw you at the convenience store on a particularly bad day for me---" Soo Hyun listened as she recounted their encounter. "I thought to myself, if I had someone like you by my side at any given time, I knew I would be able to get past anything.Nonchalantly but with affection. You seemed like a solid tree who'd take my hand and guide me along the way ." She looked at Soo Hyun and smiled. "You're also a handsome tree."
She took a deep breath before she continued speaking. "I don't regret it though. For the first time in my life I tried my best. Even if I travel back in time, I still would have fallen for you, developed a crush on you and told you how I felt."
"I'm sorry." Soo Hyun apologized. "For not being able to give you anything."
Wearing her bravest face, Mi-Ju simply nodded before reaching into her folder. "Please accept this." she gave a sheet to Soo Hyun. "I can neither keep it nor throw it away."
Soo Hyun looked at it. It was the actual drawing from the picture she'd shown them that day at lunch.
"It's my drawing of you. Didn't I do a good job?" Soo Hyun smiled as he looked at it. "Thank you for appearing in my life so that I got the chance to have a crush on you." Mi-Ju told him.
Soo Hyun looked at the portrait and then to the retreating back of the girl he could not love. This kind of thing could not be forced.
Not knowing how long his talk with Mi-Ju would have been,Jun reluctantly left Soo Hyun behind and headed home first.
The minute he arrived at his apartments, his face fell when he beheld a familiar silhouette.
"These aren't yours." Yeo Jun's mother held up Soo Hyun's clothes with a scornful finger as she sat on the couch. "Where did you get these rags?"
"Leave them." Jun grabbed the clothes. "Why are you here?" he asked.
"Must I have a reason to be here?" she questioned in turn. "It's not like you paid for this place."
"You only come to me when things are bad for you." he pointed out.
His mother stood to her feet. "What?"
"To yell and curse at me."
"I see you've become talkative." His mother looked at him.
Jun's eyes were steely. "That's right. I've changed mother. So don't come by unannounced like this."
"Do you think I'm here to see you?" his mother lashed out, almost in tears. "I can't reach Jun-Wan." Yeo Jun sighed. "This isn't like him at all." his mother was more muttering to herself than talking to him. "He always picks up when I call."
"Should I call him for you?" Jun asked
His mother ran to him. "Does take your calls? Have you seen him?" her teary eyes were hopeful. "What did you say to him that made him ignore my calls?" she tapped Jun in the chest
