The sun was just starting to rise, just barely creeping through the blinds as you laid back on the bed holding the phone close to your ear, even though you were alone the fear of someone hearing the voice on the other end made your heart race.
"I wanna see you soon," the voice was low, you had to hold your breath to even hear it. "But you're not mine,"
"It doesn't have to be that way," you whispered into the phone
"We can't do this again, you know that darlin', I shouldn't even be talkin' to you," he sighed, "You..."
"Don't please," you cut him off, "I don't need the reminder,"
"God, I wish we could've figured this out sooner," he was pacing throughout his room, the footsteps echoing through the phone. "There's no time is there?"
"Phillip please, we could-"
The door creaked open and the light flickered on, your boyfriend was home early. As quickly as you could you hung up, shoving the phone under your pillow. You turned slightly so your back was now facing the door, squeezing your eyes closed and praying for the door to shut again. Your boyfriend didn't know about Phillip Graves, and it needed to stay that way.
