The stairs creaked as you made your way down toward the kitchen, the smell of breakfast drifted through the air. Rounding the corner Phillip was brought into view, his back towards you as he leaned over the stove. His head turned around making eye contact with you, he was wearing an old college t-shirt with his navy sweatpants.

"Hey sleepy head", he smiled turning his attention back to the stove, "Was waiting for you to get up,"

"Mhmm", you groggily rubbed your eyes walking up behind Phillip. Your head rested on his back, arms wrapping his torso as you let out a deep breath, "Whatcha making?"

"Pancakes, eggs, the works," he paused slightly, turning his neck to peek at you behind him, "You comfortable back there?"

"Very,"

Graves' turned around, abandoning the stove for the time being, wrapping his arms around you and pulling you into a hug. He rested his chin on your head after placing a small kiss on your forehead. Phillip wasn't home often being the CEO of the Shadow Company, but whenever he was home he always made sure to make breakfast every morning, he utilized his time at home to the fullest.

"Did you make coffee?" you mumbled to him.

"Yeah, but I finished it before you got down here, sleepy," he squeezed you tightly in the hug, "Do you mind making another pot?"

"Not at all," you pulled away from the hug, leaning up to place a quick kiss on Phillip's lips before starting the coffee. The coffee machine crackled as it spewed out the fresh brew. The smell immediately flooded the air as you poured two cups adding cream and sugar to both. You grabbed both as you returned to the stove where Graves stood, passing him the mug.

He brought the cup to his lips, raising his eyebrows as he sipped it, "You always make it better than I do,"

"It's coffee,"

"You still do it better", he smiled as he shuffled the last pancake off the pan and onto a plate he made for you which was already waiting with the rest of the breakfast he had prepared. "Go sit", he pointed to the kitchen table, "I'll bring it over for you,"

You sat as Phillip placed your breakfast in front of you, followed by him sitting across the table with his food and coffee, "Enjoy," he smiled as he picked up a fork.

"You spoil me, you know that?"

"I do," he nodded, "I want to,"

You smiled back at him, a comfortable silence filled the kitchen as the two of you dove into the food Phillip prepared. Every once in a while you two would catch eyes causing you both to laugh as you sipped your coffees. Graves' eyes lit up as he prepared to break the silence,

"Do you remember when we first met?" he asked as he cut his pancakes, stuffing them into his mouth as he glanced down the table at you.

"You mean when you were tripping over yourself at the bar to pay for my drink?" you laughed into the coffee cup as you took a sip.

"Now, that's not how I remember it,"

"Probably because you were a bit tipsy," Phillip frowned at the comment, "Always the gentleman though, you paid for my tab and the rest of my drinks that night," immediately dropping his frown as he remembered the night.

"I'm glad my charm worked,"

"Charm? You're lucky you're handsome Phil,"

"C'mon now,"

"I'm just teasing you, calm down," you giggled at how easy it was to rile him up. Another comfortable silence blanketed the table as the two of you continued to eat. Phillip scooted his chair closer to the table before speaking up.

"Hey, I love you," your head peeked up from your plate as he continued, "Been meaning to tell you that,"

"I love you too Phillip Graves,"

Both of you had been thinking the words for a long time, saying little things that implied the "L word," but this was the first time the both of you had said it out loud to each other.

"Was afraid I wouldn't get that right," he chuckled to himself.

"How so?"

"Can't mess up the first 'I love you' now can I darlin', what would we tell our kids?" Phillip reached his hand towards yours across the table, taking it in his and giving it a light squeeze.

"That their dad is a dumbass," you squeezed his hand back as you lightly laughed.

"Now, don't go ruining this moment", he rubbed his jaw as he laughed along with you thinking about this very story he would tell your future kids.
