Y/N didn't utter a word as her stylist took her measures and scribbled them down on a spare piece of paper. She didn't bother to ask what she'd be wearing; she only hoped it wouldn't be downright hideous.
"I'll be right back." The stylist rushed off to get something, leaving Y/N by herself. She looked around the room, finding nothing of interest.
The door opened again. Y/N glanced over her shoulder, raising an eyebrow as she saw a blond-haired boy instead of her assigned stylist. He was panting, not yet noticing he was in the wrong room.
"Rough day, huh?" Y/N spoke up, almost startling him. She could tell by how his body tensed up and how his blue eyes quickly shifted to look at her that he was a Career.
"I'm having a rather good day, apart from the fact that my stylist wants to dye my hair."
"What colour? Please say pink. That'd be hilarious." Y/N stepped off the pedestal she had previously been standing on. She was glad she was still wearing a grey singlet and black shorts. Otherwise, that would've been awkward.
"Whatever colour it was, I wouldn't allow it." He took a step closer, looking down at Y/N.
The H/C-nette secretly studied his features, unable to place a name to his face. As if reading her mind, he answered her question.
"Cato Hadley. District Two."
So he was a Career. Y/N hummed. "Y/N L/N. District Four." She mustered up a slight smile.
"Ah, the pretty volunteer."
Y/N paused for a moment before a sound that was a mix between a scoff and a laugh slipped past her lips. "Yup. That's me. I'm glad you find me pretty. But I'm so much more than that. Next time, use goddess."
"High ego, huh?" Cato leaned forward, his chest almost brushing against Y/N.
"Hm. I've been told."
Before Cato could reply, Y/N's stylist returned. She froze when she saw Cato and Y/N standing together, barely inches apart.
"Sorry, am I interrupting anything?" She squeaked, jumping back.
"No. I was just leaving." Cato brushed past the stylist and glanced over his shoulder, sending Y/N a wink. She smirked and subtly waved bye to him.
Y/N's stylish quickly returned to work, muttering to herself. Her cheeks flushed as she occasionally glanced at Y/N.
She dressed the H/C-haired tribute in a beautiful gown that reminded her of the ocean back home.
The dress (scroll to the end of the chapter to find the image) was mainly a deep blue colour, but the bodice that looked almost like a seashell was a gradient of a lighter and darker shade. It was strapless, only held by the necklace attached to it and the lace at the back.
Patches of shiny silver fabric decorated areas of the dress, and the lower half was dripping in pearls of assorted sizes. The sleeves were puffy, starting below Y/N's shoulders and ending at her wrists. To incorporate more of a sea feeling, the stylist added black fishnet to her exposed shoulders.
Her makeup was just as dramatic as her dress; hues of blue, shades of glitter, and bright highlighter. It definitely gave off District Four vibes.
