Blinding light. It was painful and just as it had gone, it had returned. The light was strong and was enough to make her turn over, now the light was gone again....that was strange. She sputtered and coughed as she sat straight up holding herself up with her arms. She looked around her vision still blurry, she had no way to get her glasses or her needed contacts. That's when she realized she was in a bed. Quickly scrambling to get out of it, she fell out of it and slammed into the floor loudly. She groaned and rested against it for a moment as she felt her aching body respond to the contact of the floor and her body. It was until she heard a click noise. She turned around to see a man who had shut the door behind him and was leaning on the wall with his arms crossed. The tall, dark haired man looked mysterious, but even worse than that he looked strong....like he was someone one shouldn't upset. She froze like a deer in headlights. He stared at her his face expressionless. She shifted a little against the wall she was now leaning against. She finally noticed Konshu in the corner. She jumped back against the wall and covered her mouth to silence her yell of surprise. The god chuckles sinisterly in the corner. She kept her eyes on the bird god for a moment before shifting back to look at the man who was on the other side of the bedroom she was in. She looked over at the man as she held the wall for support to stand. Her entire body ached and it seemed she had been bandaged up where previous wounds were. She had a massive headache she realized she didn't have her small bag she has been carrying on her body. She looked around hastily but somethings were really blurry, she couldn't really make out the mans face anymore since she was further away now. She looked at him. "Who are you....what do you want?" She didn't sound like herself, she sounded tired and her voice was raspy. Her throat was dry and everything about her was in pain.  She was swaying a little dangerously using the wall for support. "I don't want anything from you." He said quietly. "That doesn't answer my first question." She said in a demanding tone. He sighed "I know." That was all that was said about that. You looked around the room hesitantly trying to look for your bag but things were so blurry you couldn't see. "Uhm...where is my bag...?" She asked looking in his direction. "I have it." He said shortly. She said to him "C-can I have it back?" She said. He looked at her "I took all the weapons out, so it doesn't matter" she wobbled a little "I don't care about the weapons, I need my bag." She snapped. He turned and left without a word and returned tossing it her. She stumbled but still caught it she was fumbling around in there and finally found the case to her glasses and quickly put them on, this alleviated the headache a bit and made everything clearer. She finally was able to see and her eyes landed on the man. He was good looking but man did he look scary. She wasn't afraid, she was confused. "Where are we exactly?" She questioned looking at him. "My apartment." She rolled her eyes. "Not what I meant but ok...why am I in your apartment?" She asked stumbling again. "Jesus" he mumbled "sit down before you break a nail." She scoffed but she sat down. She held her stomach tightly feeling extremely hungry now and put a hand to her throat realizing how dry it was. He sighed "Hungry?" He guessed. She nodded and looked at him. He sighed and opened the door "stay here" he said shutting it behind him. She looked around the room, it smelled nice, and it was cold. A nice contrast to how hot she felt before. She sighed and leaned against the wall. When he re-entered the room he moved closer to her tossing her a sandwich and a water bottle. "Eat." He said sitting on the edge of the bed. She immediately scarfed down the food. "Relax, the food isn't going anywhere." He said seeing the look on her face, he had pity in his eyes but his face remained expressionless. She stopped and paced herself with the food. She sighed "so I'm guessing you have something to do with....that?" She said gesturing toward the god in the corner. He sighed "let me guess, he saved your life and was vague about the conditions?" she coughed and nodded. He sighed and explained the situation. "This is Konshu. The Egyptian god of the moon. We are his avatars, we are here to the work on earth he cannot. We are to bring justice to the innocent and bring vengeance upon those who do wrong" he said as she sighed. She hung her head, she was so tired and she started to think maybe she shouldn't have agreed. She snapped herself out of it. She was so tired. At this point she just wanted to shower. She nodded "anything else?" She asked tiredly. "I'm going to train you over the next few weeks so be prepared." She nodded "ok." She said quietly she finished off her water and looked at him. "Uhm...is there anyway I can shower?" He nodded and stood up and walked over to a dresser in the corner by the god who had now disappeared and pulled out a t shirt and some shorts. "These are mine but it's all I've got, and you are in desperate need of clean clothes." He added. It was then she realized she'd been sleeping in his bed.  A large blush had appeared on her face and she covered her mouth slightly taking the clothes and mumbling a thank you and heading to shower.

The hot water trickled down her body. It was burning her skin, this time in the best way possible. She could feel the dirt and sweat washing away. She was so exhausted she could only let a few tears under the hot water. She quickly got herself together and shut off the water getting dressed. She came out with her dark wet hair in a ponytail as she wandered back into the bedroom. She saw the man sitting on the edge of his bed in a tank top and sweatpants trying to untangle some headphones. She blushed and stared at the floor quickly. "Uh... is there somewhere I can sleep?" She asked quietly. He looked at her. "Why, are you afraid to share a bed?" She was a little startled but shrugged "no, at least I get to sleep in a real, comfortable, bed" he nodded and she sat on the edge opposite him trying to keep her distance.  She looked at him hesitantly. He turned around to face her "I don't bite you know" he said as he was still fidgeting with the headphones. You smirked "ok? Maybe I do." He scoffed and chuckled a bit. You sighed and turned around, you'd been silent for a while. You eventually spoke you were hesitant at first. "H-hey....whats you're name?" She asked quietly. He sighed "are you going to tell me yours?" He asked knowing they both knew she would say no. "Ok then...what do I call you?" She asked. He had to think about that for a bit. "Spector." He decided that he would use this alias even though it wasn't far off from his full name. She would never know "Ok then Spector." She said hesitantly. He looked at her "alright your turn I suppose" she thought about it for a minute, then the words Konshu said when she was on her death bed rang in her ears. "Star. You can call me Star." She said looking at the window. There was no more talking after that. She laid down and paid him no more attention as she drifted off to sleep and let the darkness consume her.
