Chapter 21

Val's pov
Time skip ( four days later) arrival at lorien

We rode up to the lit gate of Lorien and it was dark out. we were escorted directly to our chambers and I changed into a dress to greet everyone. I put on a strapless white dress with a tight waist and a slight flow at the bottom. I pinned two strands of hair behind my head with a glittering Barrett and white wedges on. I opened my necklace and smiled at the pictures. I put a circlet of silver leaves on my head. I breathed in and closed my eyes upon exhaling. A knock at the door startled me from my relaxing my mind moment.

"Val, are you ready?" Legolas said through the door.

"Yes," I said while opening the door.

"Why do you always have to look so good all the time?"

"It's a gift," I replied with a laugh.

I looped my arm through his and his outfit was white with silver embroider as well so we matched. As we descended the staircase into the welcoming party that always happens, everyone stopped and stared at us which I had become self conscious about. I felt nervous and descended the stair case and I spotted my family as the music continued and everyone returned I their previous actions.

"Valerie!" Arwen yelled and flung her arms around my neck while I undid my arm from legolas.

"It's so good to see you sis," I replied.

My brothers also stepped forward which I felt so happy because the last time I had seen them, they were overwhelmed by orcs while they made me ride here actually.

"Elladan! Ellrohir!" I yelled and I had an arm around each of their necks as I held them close to me.

"You don't think you could get rid of us that easily, did you?" Elladan asked while laughing.

We all talked about how life had been so different for all of us. I told them about me and Legolas which my brothers both looked at him suspiciously.

"Oh calm down you two," I said quickly clasping my hand into Legolas'.

We decided to catch up later and attend the party which everyone was still dancing to the music. a hand was in front of me, extending outward.

"Would you like I dance, lady val?" Legolas asked

"Why of course prince legoals." I replied

He lead me out to the dance floor and we danced like so many times before. I truly loved him and I believe he loved me back as well.

"Legolas, can I tell you something?"

"Anything,"

"I love you," I said

"I love you too," he responded and kissed me.

"You might want to cut down on the kissing for now," I said giggling

"Why?"

"Because my brothers are cautious of you right now so all you have to do is pass their standards, which are pretty high," I said waiting for him to take it all in.

"Oh, that's not good,"

"You'll do fine! I promise!" I said placing my head on his shoulder.

We swayed back and forth just embracing each other in our arms. Although I know that my family will be leaving to go back home tomorrow and I will stay until the day after tomorrow. Legolas and I plan on leaving that morning.

Legolas pov

We just swayed to the music. tons of elleths swoon over me whenever I walk into the village but val makes me feel like no other. she could never be replaced and if I were to lose her, it would feel like dying.

Val's pov

I retired to my chambers and I was about to sleep when a knock at my door startled me.

"Val? It's me Arwen," I heard

I opened the door to my see my sister crying.

"Arwen what's wrong?" I said guiding her in and sitting her on the bed.

" I am just... so happy for you finding someone who loves you, and after we leave, I might not see you for a while. but remember to write." she said

"Of course, I could never forget." I replied.

She left and I laid in bed and prepared for sleep. I fell into a dreamless sleep.

Time skip ( two days later)
Val's pov

I got up and put on brown pants, riding boots, and an over coat that was blue. I left m hair down and walked out with my bag to mount my horse and wait for the others. I saw Legolas come around the corner and look at me.

"Why are you up there?" He asked

"Waiting," I replied

"Well that's good because we are ready to go, my lady,"

"Thank you prince legolas."

We rode off and four days later we reached mirkwood once more.

The travel back had been uneventful other than a few animals but it wasn't anything too major. As we approached the greenwood, Legolas nodded to a guard and they all rode ahead.

"Where are they going Legolas?" I asked

" I wanted to show you something without the guards," he replied and tatted off to our left which I followed.

We rode for what seems for hours when he finally reached a point when we were in the middle of a clearing and legolas got off hi horse so I followed and he pulled a simple box out of his pack and got down on one knee and I gasped.

"Val of rivendell, daughter of lord elrond and my true love, will you marry me?" He asked

"Of course legolas!" I said and he looked overjoyed as well.

"I love you so much val,"

"I love you too,"
