"The struggle is part of the story."

Piercing crying met Miles's ears making him cringe and squeezing his eyes shut tightly.

Reggie had been waking him up all night. Not that it was his baby brother's fault, he was a baby after all.

Was Miles this loud when he was a child?

He quickly rolled over reaching into the crib, Reggie seemed to already be expecting this his big eyes finding Miles's easily making grabby hands at his older brother.

"Good morning bubba," Miles said a yawn escaping his lips. The moment Reggie was out of the crib and in Miles's arms his tears stopped. "You just want snugs huh?"

Reggie merely moved curling into his chest. Willow whined slightly from beside him making Miles close his eyes.

He was so tired.

He brushed some of Willow's hair and patted Reggie's back. He made sure they were both settled down before he carefully got out of bed with Reggie-

Making sure to grab his brother's favorite stuffed bunny.

"You're a pain in my butt kid you know that right?" Miles questioned as he slipped out of the bedroom. The hardwood floor was cold against his bare feet giving him a slight wake-up call. "And you stink."

The worst part of the morning changing diapers.

Miles shivered scrunching his nose as Reggie giggled.

"Laugh it up you little monster, your gonna have to change my diapers when I'm an old man. There's no way I'm going into a retirement home." Miles rambled wincing as he started down the stairs.

His knee was in killer pain, stupid bruises. He still can't believe he tripped on a stake board.

He moved downstairs his heart skipping a beat as he glanced into the living room. Ever since that coffee mug moved everything felt slightly off.

It made Miles's skin crawl.

He glanced away moving down the hall-third door on the right. It was bright yellow a toilet drawn on the outside of it in a big black outline making Miles smile slightly.

His dad had painted that on.

He moved into it easily snagging one of Reggie's diapers and changing the boy. His baby brother was babbling away his hand holding onto Miles's shirt tightly.

Reggie really was a cute kid.

"Ugh gross Reggie," Miles made a face as he threw out his brother's diaper washing his hands before picking him up.

He opted to just let Reggie chill in his diaper instead of putting clothes on. He still had to feed the kids breakfast and he knew for a fact that his brother would get messy.

Reggie grinned at him his eyes bright as Miles picked him back up. He moved back out of the bathroom and through the hall to the kitchen.

He glanced around it blowing a breath out at the messy sight.

They had a big kitchen.

Both his parents loved to cook so having a big kitchen was a priority for both of them.

They had remolded it together. The kitchen was a pretty blue-green color with white accents. Dark brown cabinets lined the room. Pretty marble countertops run throughout it.

It was spacious and stunning.

Miles's favorite part of it was the scattered hand prints on the walls.
