"An apple a day keeps anyone away if you throw it hard enough.""Are you sure?" Miles questioned the twins for what felt like the millionth time.
He was leaving them with Willow and Reggie. He was planning on going over to Kota's house to hang out with him and the others after working on their English homework.
The night of the twin's birthday they ended up staying on the phone always talking about the stupidest little things. It honestly was one of the funniest phone calls he's had in a while. He felt completely at ease and relaxed.
He decided he needed to be better about trying to be friends. It was hard given the circumstances but not impossible.
So he double-checked the twins and a few days into the school week he asked and the other's quickly agreed.
He didn't want to make it a habit of having his younger brothers watching his younger siblings. They needed to focus on school and soccer but Miles also needed time with the older boys to work on his English assignment.
"Miles go relax." Parker insisted calmly, he could tell Damien was getting annoyed by the repeated question. "Seriously we can watch them for a few hours. Besides your body needs a break too just don't do anything too taxing. Take a minute for yourself."
"Seriously leave," Damien said dryly making Parker shoot him a look.
Willow was pouting but she didn't push about him staying. Miles was pretty sure that it was because he was hurt. He knelt to his baby sister giving her a big kiss on the cheek. "I'll be back in a flash sport."
Willow nodded patting his cheek. Her big eyes looked so sad at him going. He was proud of her for letting him.
"If you want to hear from me ask the boys to give me a call."
"-But he's got homework so the more we let Miles get it done the quicker he'll be home!" Damien said sweetly before patting Miles's shoulder. "Now get out."
Miles rolled his eyes, "Geesh okay," He stood up ruffling Willow's hair. He moved towards the door grabbing his car keys, "Oh make sure to wake Reggie from his nap in-"
"Miles go!" Both twins said.
"But-"
"You told us to go!"Miles huffed his chest tightening as he left. Just a couple of hours.
🌷
The first hour at Kota's was doing homework.
As soon as Miles walked in the door he found the group sprawled across the living room floor each working on a section.
Miles found himself on the floor like last time working on his section. It seemed like these guys worked in the same repetitive order.
Just like last time.
That in itself was comforting.
Just like last time Parker helped him with his section of the homework so Miles wouldn't have to struggle in front of the guys.
English was his worst subject.
So well they worked on English he worked on his homework for his other classes. It was nice getting the quiet time to work in peace.
He did with his free period in school too but it honestly wasn't long. He wasn't getting the extra support he was supposed to because his aide just played on her phone.
Miles preferred it he didn't particularly like the aid they paired him with anyway. Honestly, the worst part about doing homework at their house was trying to mask his struggles. Every time someone moved Miles's felt a sense of anxiety pulling his papers closer to him.
