Ro woke up to the sound of her obnoxious alarm. Groaning, she rolled over, turning the alarm off. She huffed, looking up at the ceiling. She rolled out of bed, stretching before dragging herself to her bathroom. She started the shower, and stripped out of her clothes, tiredly stepping under the warm water.
After he shower, she wrapped a towel around her body, walking over to her closet. "Hmm...this one." She hummed, grabbing a 'Jurassic Park' tank top. She slipped on a pair of jeans, putting her socks and shoes on. She did some beach waves for her hair, and picked out some rings and a few bracelets.
She saw a flannel laying on the back of her desk chair. She shrugged, thinking it was hers, and threw it on, leaving it unbuttoned so people could see her shirt. After doing some light makeup, she grabbed her bookbag, making her way down stairs to the kitchen.
"Morning." She smiled, walking over to the fridge. "You're chipper this morning." Kevin said, shoving a spoonful of cheerios in his mouth. Ro jumped, turning around, forgetting that her step-brother had come to live at her mother's. "Jesus, Kev! You scared me!" She said, earning a small chuckle from the blonde boy.
"Forget I ran away with you?" He asked. "Maybe." She mumbled, grabbing a yogurt. "Good morning, kids." Laura said, walking into the kitchen, placing her purse on the counter. "Morning, mom." "Morning, Laura." The two teens replied. Rosa walked over, sitting next to her brother at the kitchen island. "How did you sleep, Kevin?" Laura asked, smiling over at the blonde boy. "Really good, actually. I don't think I've ever slept as well as I did last night." He replied. "Is Nick coming over later to help you decorate your room?" Laura asked, making a cup of coffee.
"Yeah." Kevin nodded. "And thank you for letting me stay here. I really appreciate it." He added. "Of course, dear. After Rosa told me what goes on at that place, I had to do something." Laura replied. "Mom, where's dad?" Ro asked. "Oh, he was called into work early this morning." Laura said. "Oh, okay." Ro nodded. "Kev, we should probably get going. We've gotta pick Julie up on our way to school." She said, standing from her seat.
