Lovebit Original-Chapter 03

Jee

P'King is so cool, so chill and...so handsome. The brunch that we had was short, well, not short because we ate fast but because P'King left soon after he ended his call. He said has to meet someone else for the day. From where I sit at the table, I can only watch as he walks out of the restaurant and disappear out into the busy streets.

"There he goes again, this son of mine. He can't sit still for very long," says Uncle Kiat, P'King's father to my dad. I sip my milkshake in silence.

"Come one Kiat, youngsters are all like that. As if you weren't like that when you were his age," dad replies with a smirk. "Besides, your King is such a busy and popular person, I doubt he will spend his time being idle. Chill, my friend," Exactly the point I was thinking too.

"Sometimes, I rather a nice, quiet and polite boy like your son here. It's nice when your kids want to stick around you,"

"Friend, my Jee sticks to me and my wife, yes but trust me, when he is busy doing whatever he into at the moment, he forgets he even has parents," dad teases me.

"Dad! That's not true," and both dad and Uncle Kiat start laughing at me. I pout my mouth and continue sipping my milkshake. I decide to ignore this two uncles who continue talking on and on about boring topics like politics, business and finance. None which interest me.

I unlock my phone screen and click right into my LINE app. The latest profile I just added was right on top.

P'King's.

Before he left, I bucked up my courage and asked him for his LINE ID. Well, it's something I need to do anyway if I'm suppose to work with him right? So was is only logical for us to have a communication method.

P'King.

Of course he doesn't remember me. I was only 7 years old when we met and spent time together. He was the older brother I never had. He was the older brother who was there for me, even if our time together weren't that long. It's normal he doesn't remember me since we didn't stay connected after. Plus it's been 15 years since then.

Honestly, probably I would have forgotten all about P'King too if I didn't attend the one anime related convention in town. When I saw P'King, I thought he looked so familiar. He never noticed me of course but from how he was moving around, I guessed he was there for business purpose. The tag he was wearing was a dead giveaway too. It was a three day event where I was supposed to enjoy myself but somehow I managed to spot him around all three days.

Okay, day one, I spotted him randomly. Day two, secretly, I was hoping to see him again and there he was, walking around areas I was at. I observed him from afar for as long as I can. By day three, I was looking for him on purpose and when I found him, secretly following him around as much as I could. For all three days, all P'King did was walk around the convention area, stopping by at booths that caught his interest, stopping random people cosplaying to take their pictures or to talk to them or just stood around to watch shows happening on stages. He didn't behave like a normal convention visitor, like me who frequent them. It was as if he was there to observe everything, from the above.

I was useless because I didn't have the courage to walk up to him and talk. I thought the last day would be the last I saw him. It was only after I came home, that dad mentioned that Uncle Kiat and family are coming to New York for a vacation. Dad showed me a family photo of Uncle Kiat and his family. There he was, P'King. I was so happy and almost couldn't believe the coincidence. I told dad everything that happened the last three days I was at the convention.

As the day of Uncle Kiat and family visiting approaching, I can't contain my excitement. I try to ask my dad as nonchalantly as I could all about P'King. There was when I got to know more about P'King. Not only he owns a successful construction company, he also goes around countries producing all sort of events and event has a talent company to grow all kinds of talents.

I wasted no time researching P'King's companies after I managed to get dad to get more information from Uncle Kiat. The one information which got me the most excited was that P'King owns the company that manages one of my favorite Thai influencer Rin Sakdathorn. Rin runs a successful lifestyle channel with millions of followers. His social medias which are also followed by millions are usually full of art he drew himself or himself modelling for brands. I fell in love with his art and started following him online one find day.

I wasted no time expressing my intention to become a successful influencer myself. I had to brainwash my dad again and again, reminding him that his son who is also a content creator online wasn't doing so bad. I guess 500k plus follower on my Instagram account is nothing to flaunt about compared to Rin Sakdathorn but I must praise myself to say I am some what a mini celebrity. I get recognized sometimes when I was out and about too. Dad did offer to get me in into the entertainment industry in America but it wasn't something I was ready to do.

Anyway, with mom's help, long story short, dad worked his magic. Uncle Kiat said he will talk to P'King about me joining his company as a talent! I love my dad. When he said he will work his magic, he makes it happen.

Now I can't wait to meet P'King in person. Again.
