S 2 Ep.2 Seeing stars

"In the great expanse of the nether there exists boundless amounts of magnificent phenomenon the great brilliance of an exploding star, the nimble dance of space dust through a nebula but once every one thousand years our corner of reality is treated to an incredible sight from the deep eldritch recesses of the cosmos the tears of a forgotten colossus begin to fall" Stolas spoke, "Tears made of the hopes and dreams of every living thing that never came to be. Condensed and sent shooting across the night sky in a dazzling final display. What appears to mortal beings as a meteor shower we can see for what it is: Azathoth's Tears" He finished explaining to young Octavia.

Octavia giggled, "Daddy, can we go see it someday?"

"Yes, dear. I promise, when the day comes nothing will be able to keep me from being there with you. Good night, my Owlette," Stolas said as he tucked her in for bed and closed his Grimoire.

"Good night!" Octavia yawned as Stolas left her room. Octavia turned around and looked up at her room, she giggled with happiness.

(Now)

Octavia got out of her bed all happy. She marked it on her calendar and circled the meteor shower on it.

She walked down the hall happily as she pulled up her boot. "Hey, Dad!" She looked in the kitchen but he wasn't there. She walked out of the kitchen yelling out for her dad, "Dad?... Dad?!"

She noticed the front door was open and heard him talking.

"It will be there, shortly" he was on a call with Stella. "Of course, they're being careful!"

"Dad, what's goin' on?" Octavia asked.

"Apparently, your mother can't exist somewhere for two minutes without the entirety of her possessions-" he got cut off by Stella yelling on the other side of the phone.

"What? No! I'm not turning her against you- Yes, Stella!" Stolas said at her impatiently.

On the other side of the phone you could hear Stella saying, "—never have to see your fucking face again!"

"Dad?" Octavia called.

"Everyone—" Stella continued to yell.

"This is going to be done before tonight, right?" Octavia asked.

"What? Oh. I hardly think so. Knowing your mother, this will take all weekend," he turned to the imps loading the car. "Don't be gentle about it, now! Break whatever you have to to get it all in there"

"What?! What did you just tell them to do?!" Stella yelled.

"But tonight was supposed to-" Octavia got cut off by her dad. "Darling, can we not talk about this now? Your mother's being a real B-I-T-C-H" Stolas said as he did air quotes with his fingers.

She continued to yell through the phone.

"Well, how was I supposed to know you can spell?! I've never seen you read!" Stolas yelled back at her as he walked away. "I'm going to take everything! Everything you own!" Stella yelled back.

Octavia ran to her room as she slammed her door all frustrated and threw her telescope over. She turned around and crumpled her calendar as she threw it next to her bag.
