Alex POV

I fix my cufflinks and look at myself in the mirror, double checking my tie. I turn and look at James and I can instantly tell he is nervous. I smack him on the back and smile at him.

"How are you doing?" I ask.

"I can't get this damn thing to…ugh." He huffs out as he drops his hands from his tie.

I can't hold back a laugh as I help him.

"I always thought I would be your best man, trying not to look better than the groom but officially failing…"

"And trying to sleep with at least one of the bridesmaids." I cut him off.

"And here we are. I'm the groom, looking a hot mess, you the best man, looking cool and collected…"

"And ending the night with the maid of honor in my bed." I smirk as I cut him off again.

"I came in at the wrong time." Hunter says as he walks into our suite.

He isn't even dressed yet and I know if any of the women were to see him right now he probably wouldn't live to see the wedding.

"Shit man, you better hurry up before someone sees you." James says, speaking my thoughts.

"Sorry, Reign is very distracting in her dress." Hunter shares as he opens his garment bag.

Hearing about him and Reign is the last thing I want to hear but it makes me think about Anna. I haven't seen her yet in her dress. I try to picture her but I can't help but envision myself at the altar and her in white. Which is a new reminder that this is what I want with her but she said no. I know we talked about it but I can't help it. The doubts and fears that she will leave me again are still there. All I can do is show her everyday I love her and need her.

I am pulled from my thoughts when my dad walks in. I glance over at Hunter to see he has finished just in time.

"Are we ready?" Dad asks.

We all nod and say yes before following him out the door. James and I go one way, Hunter and Dad towards the ladies’ suite. We are quiet and in our own thoughts as we make our way out to the "altar." I do one last check to make sure James looks perfect and turn to face the audience. As the music starts to play I can't help but to feel nervous.

First to walk down the aisle is our parents. Mom already has a tissue in her hand. Whereas Dad looks like he just can't wait to get out of these clothes. Next is Hunter with Cassie's mom on his arm. Then some little girl, a cousin of Cassie's I think, walks down tossing rose petals as she goes. Everyone awes over her but she doesn't hold my attention. Following after her is a vision of perfection.

Anna locks eyes with me and it's like she has sucked the air out of my lungs. Her hair is pulled up but with a few tendrils hanging down. The dress I've seen but not on her, damn. The dark red color and the way it hugs her chest and shows off her long legs…I don't have words. She is holding a bouquet of flowers and I can tell by her face she is concentrating on walking in those heels. I have no doubt she has had a few words with the bride about picking those shoes.

When she makes it to stand across from us I have to force myself to take my eyes off of her as everyone stands to watch Cassie and her father walk down the aisle. I can't deny Cassie is beautiful and glowing in her moment…but to me she doesn't compare.

As Cassie and James say their vows and until the ceremony comes to an end my focus is on Anna…daydreaming about the day it will be us pledging ourselves to one another.
