One Kiss

Austin and I were sitting in his room doing our schoolwork.

Austin was still really quiet over what happened yesterday. He would barely talk to me.

Finally, I had enough of it.

"Austin, why won't you talk to me?" I asked

He turned around in his swivel chair to face me, "I am talking to you."

"No you're not." I whispered

"I'm talking to you right now." he shrugged

I got off his bed and crossed the room to sit on his lap. I was straddling him my legs dangling under the desk.

"No really, Austin, tell me why you won't talk to me." I pleaded

"The woods... Alex, that's serious."

I was silent.

"Your life is precious, Alexa. Please don't ever take it."

"I don't want to die anymore." I whispered

"I'm glad. Cause I couldn't live without you." he pushed my hair behind my ear

"Austin, I couldn't live without you. If it wasn't for you-and Alex, Robert, and Valerie as well- I would already be dead."

I looked up into those hazel orbs. They stared back at me. They started getting closer and closer.

Our lips were mere centimeters away. Our hot breath was intermixing.

His eyes darted down to my lips. My arms snaked around his neck as his hands were already around my waist.

I closed my eyes and I felt Austin's warm lips cover mine. We moved in perfect synch. Eletricity ran up and down my spine.

My phone started ringing. Horrah for Demi Lovato for ruining the few seconds of pure bliss.

I sighed and got off Austin's lap.

"Hello?" I spoke into the phone

It was my aunt.

"What are you doing?" she asked

"School." I said

"Good. Remember to pick up the twins from school."

"I will."

"Okay, bye."

"Bye."

I hung up. Austin raised an eyebrow.

"Aunt Gina." I said

"Oh."

"Yeah."

Awkwardness filled the room. Austin and I just kissed and we didn't have feelings for each other.

Well, I guess we did cause we did just kiss...

"Uh, we should start school again." Austin said

"Oh, um, yeah, you're, uh, right."

The rest of the day was so incredibly awkward. We didn't say a word to each other unless we needed help with school.

"I have to go pick up Brynn and Liam. See you tomorrow." I picked up all my books and shoved them in my backpack.

"Okay, see you tomorrow." he said

I walked down the carpeted stairs, totally beating myself up. God, why did I let that happen.

The San Antonio sunshine hit my face as I walked out the door. Unlocking my car, I threw my backpack in the back seat and pulled out of the driveway.
