She hurried out of the room, from the way orca talked about his past, his father wasn't any good to him. All bexity has to do was listen to him.. right?

The smell of alcohol stung her nose as she entered the kitchen, orcas father standing, beer in hand, Infront of an open fridge. This was going to be bad.

She slowly started cleaning, it seemed she already knew what to do, throw away the bottles that seemed to pile on the table, wipe the table down with Clorox wipes, that stuff.

But for some reason, orcas father was seething. Despite her cleaning, he wasn't satisfied, and began yelling at her.

Eventually after him almost hitting her with a bottle, a woman came in. She had long black hair and no features that resembled a bird or such. She was human.

"Damien stop this, you know you scare the boy!"

"I don't give a fuck if I'm scaring him, he's doing it all wrong!"

"Then maybe you should teach him instead of drinking all da-"

She was cut off by a hard slap to the face, making bexity flinch. That had to hurt, but the woman didn't show anything.

"Don't slap me Damien"

"I'll do whatever the fuck I want to you"

"Damien leave!"

"Excuse me?"

"I said leave!"

And at that, the bottle Damien was holding was smashed over the woman's head and she crumpled, blood beginning to drip down her face as Damien stomped away.

Instantly bexity began looking for a first aid kit.

"Bathroom, zoluess, come, some glass hit you too."

She shakily stood up, bexity rushing to her and helping her get to the bathroom.

She hadn't even realized she had a cut right beneath her right eye.

They eventually got to a small bathroom and orcas mother sat bexity on the counter, taking a small shard of glass out of the cut with tweezers, putting some white cream on it, and then a bandaid.

Then she started taking the glass out of her own cuts, putting the cream on the ones she could.

"Your being awfully quiet to-"

Bexity shut her out, not hearing the rest of the sentence, someone was in the doorway.

It was just a shadow, but it had glowing orange eyes, so it definitely wasn't Damien. But as soon as she blinked, it disappeared.

Something was off.

Suddenly she was on the floor.

"Dakota's mom should be picking you up any time now, I have your clothes packed and everything."

She softly smiled at bexity, who smiled back.

Her first genuine smile since she was nine..
