The door slowly creaked open, a fox hybrid standing there, happiness sparking in full mismatched eyes as she hugged bexity.

"Shade get over here! She's back!"

Bexity heard running, and soon she was snatched from her grandmother, into the familiar arms of the cat hybrid. Her mother.

They stood there for a moment, before the black dragon cleared it's throat "shade" it dipped its head

Shade looked at the elementals, then at bexity, horror flashing in her eyes, and she began to mutter to herself, looking away.

"Child of the before.. of course.. bexity.. that means.. orange eyed freak.. back"

Bexity sighed "I.." she hesitated "I spoke to father"

Instantly shade went silent, looking at bexity. "What did he say?"

"He told me to get here, he looked panicked"

The elementals had gathered among themselves, talking about what might happen.

"I.. come with me bexity. There's a bunch I haven't told you."

She carefully grabbed her daughters hand, taking her to the door of the basement, a sign nailed to it, reading "danger" in bright red letters.

Bexity watched as her mother unlocked the door, then followed her down the stairs.

It was a mess.

Papers strewn about, covered in dried black ink.

Some had "juniper" written on them in blue ink, and others had "yew" in red.

Then there was the safe.

It had by far the most dangerous objects they knew.

Shade carefully avoided the pages, going to a shelf with disks stacked on it.

She grabbed one and threw it at a wall, a portal opening up.

"Come."

As her mother stepped through, she looked at the safe, it didn't look like it contained anything dangerous? But then she turned and stepped through the portal.

She was suddenly in a room, it only had one exit, other than the portal, and shade stood at it, waiting for bexity.

"This is a lot of security, mo-"

"Shush, you might draw them towards us"

She stepped out onto a pathway, and hurriedly followed it, bexity following closely.

Soon the two came up on a fountain.

A fluffy looking fox sat there, dabbing at the water with a paw.

It looked like embers, besides its eyes, which looked like the rainbow youd see in a bubble.

"Bubble"

Of course the foxes name would be bubble.

The fox looked up, then stood up from the water, it stood on its back legs, like a human.

"Shade.. I suppose you came here for the time keeper?"

"Yes, will you take me to them?"

"Mother what is this? Who is that, and why are we here?"
