Violet woke up to her phone ringing next to her head, unpleasantly loud.

"Hello?"

"𝚅𝚒𝚘𝚕𝚎𝚝? 𝙳𝚒𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚓𝚞𝚜𝚝 𝚠𝚊𝚔𝚎 𝚞𝚙? 𝚈𝚘𝚞 𝚜𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚍 𝚝𝚒𝚛𝚎𝚍."

"Yeah. I had unexpected visitors last night."

"𝙾𝚑 𝚜𝚠𝚎𝚎𝚝𝚒𝚎..."

"It's fine Rose. What's up?"

"𝚆𝚎'𝚛𝚎 𝚙𝚕𝚊𝚢𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚋𝚊𝚜𝚎𝚋𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚠𝚘𝚗𝚍𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚍 𝚒𝚏 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚠𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚍 𝚝𝚘 𝚓𝚘𝚒𝚗?"

"Oh heck yeah! Meet at your house?"

"𝚂𝚞𝚛𝚎! 𝚆𝚎'𝚕𝚕 𝚑𝚎𝚊𝚍 𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚛 𝚘𝚗𝚌𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚐𝚎𝚝 𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎."

"Kay! I'll see you in a bit!"

Violet hung up and looked over at the wall clock to see that it was noon.

"Holy crap! Did I actually sleep for that long?!"

After showering and changing, Violet made her way to the kitchen and made herself a little snack before getting into her Jeep and driving to her dad's house.

The drive wasn't that long, but the distance between the houses was enough that she didn't want to walk.

She pulled up to the house and walked in before openly calling to her dad. "Hey, I'm heading out!— Oh... I didn't know you guys were still here." She said pointing to Jared and Paul.

Violet walked over to Emily and gave her a hug and kiss on the cheek before walking up to Sam and giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"And where are you going?" Sam asked.

"I'm going to play baseball with some of my friends from school."

"You? Playing baseball?!" Sam gasped dramatically.

"Okay, okay, they'll be playing, and I'm gonna be on the side watching and cheering." Violet corrected.

"Hmmm... alright."

Violet nodded before heading towards the door.

"Just as long as it isn't with the Cullens." Sam added.

That got Violet to stop in her tracks.

"They're just friends from school." Violet insisted.

"Okay, fine."

Violet nodded before turning to head out the door when Sam stopped her again. "Before you go, introduce yourself to Paul."

"I met him last night."
