"You look beautiful, sweetheart." Emily cooed.
"Thanks, mom." Violet smiled. "I'm so excited! It's my first date!"
"You happy Paul asked you?" Emily asked.
"Yeah..." Violet smiled fondly "Mom, can I tell you something...?"
"Of course!" Emily chirped.
"Well, you see... I was over at the Cullen's house, back when they were here, and I read one of Dr. Cullen's books on mermaids. It said that mermaids have these things called 'Beaus'. In human terms, they're basically soulmates. And you're are bonded to them as soon as your eyes meet your mate's..."
"Is Paul your Beau? Or your mate?" Emily asked with a kind smile.
Violet smiles and nods eagerly. "Yeah, he is."
"Why do you look sad about it?"
"I'm not Paul's soulmate... he never told me I was his imprint... What if he imprints on someone else? I'll be alone and heartbroken forever... I mean, he may like me now, but since he didn't imprint on me I'll be completely heartbroken when he does find his imprint..." Violet sighs.
"I'm sure you two will have an amazing future together." Emily assures, knowing full well that she was Paul's imprint and there was nothing to worry about. "You want to come downstairs and wait, or do you want to wait up here?"
"I'll stay up here. I need to calm myself down."

"Sam, I wanna talk to you..."
Sam and Emily sit in the living room and talk about Violet's worries, making Sam sigh.
"Hmmm... I don't want to rush him about telling her, but it may be best for them if he came clean about him imprinting."
"I think so too. I don't mean to butt in on their relationship, but she's really worried about not being his soulmate. I think it's putting doubt in her mind. She's getting into her head." Emily confesses.
"I'll talk to him." Sam assures.

"Paul, before you come in, I wanna talk." Sam says seriously.
Paul gulps but nods and follows Sam a little away from the house.
"Look, I'm not trying to nag you. But I wanted to talk to you about Violet. I want to know when you intend to tell her you imprinted on her." Sam bluntly states.
Paul looked at Sam shocked "I... I—"
"I'm only asking because Violet is worried that you will find your imprint and leave her heartbroken." Sam told Paul.
