Everything happened at full speed. Agony still held tightly to Griffin who still wanted to hit the wizards even though he had dropped his crowbar. He shouted colourful insults as Sytry sent his men to evacuate the prisoners and flank the other wizards. Zia was finally able to leave the circle and walked over to Tragedy, who was crying, holding a few pieces of the urn. Misery was motionless. Tragedy looked up blankly at Griffin as Zia put her hand on his shoulder. He sent the little witch tumbling with a brutal gesture and lunged at Griffin, grabbing him by the neck and squeezing.

— You... You little shit! See what you've done? DID YOU SEE?! Die! You die too! Parasite! I should have exterminated the vermin that you are long ago! YOU BRING NOTHING BUT MISERY AND DESOLATION!

By the time Misery and Agony reacted, Griffin was suffocating at the hands of the out—of—control Cerberus. Misery screamed in rage and charged at his brother, who transformed in a split second and bit Misery, who sent a bloody paw into his stomach. The two monstrous creatures were rolling on the ground, hitting each other with lightning speed. Agony knelt over Griffin. Purple bruises appeared all around his neck, matching those on his stomach. Griffin coughed hard with his eyes closed, gasping for breath. Agony growled.

— Zia!

The tone was dry and authoritative. The little witch wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth and used it as the basis for her incantation. A few finger movements and a jet of light later, the two Cerberus, in their primal form, found themselves bound by magical ties. Tragedy reverted to his human form, but the bonds followed suit and wrapped themselves around the man. He screamed with all his might.

— You killed him! Do you realize that?! He's not coming back because of you! You ruined my life! You deserve to die! You parasitic piece of shit! You don't deserve to...

His voice died as a yellow light hit his throat. Zia cried hysterically as she clasped both hands together. Seeing that he could no longer speak, Tragedy struggled like hell, but every movement tightened the magical bonds and he ended up, gasping, sitting on the floor, crying long spasmodic sobs. Agony gently lifted Griffin to his feet.

— He didn't miss you. A little more and you'd be gone.

Griffin smiled and tried to swallow. His voice was broken.

—I've always been a lucky guy.

— Mistress!

Zia ran to Agony who hugged her.

— You were very brave, my little bird. I am proud of you.

Griffin looked at Misery, who remained calm but never took his eyes off him. He smiled, his voice still broken.

— I'm fine...

Then he sighed, smiling sadly, and added

— But it's not me you're interested in, is it?

Griffin raised his voice as best he could to address Tragedy.

— For what it's worth to your ears, I'm sorry.

Tragedy raised his face to him suddenly, tears rolling down his cheeks and his eyes, after the shock, crinkled into a deadly stare. Griffin took in the full force of the Cerberus bond with a fierce hatred and a deep, visceral disgust. Misery growled a warning. Griffin puckered his lips and closed the collar. Gwen's body gave a long shudder and the human had just enough time to turn his head and vomit the contents of his stomach. He hiccupped with the pain in his body and throat. He shuddered in shock and pain as he looked at his team in turn.

Sytry came in wiping his hands and frowned at the chaos.

— All right, everyone calm down? What a mess!
