Agony cocked her head to one side as she looked at the man in the medical bed.
— I can't get used to this. What should we call you again?
— Gey. Call me Gey.
Zia smiled back.
— Gey is prettier than Griwen or Gwefin... Gey is more...
She made a gesture of clasping her hands together as if to close the space between them. Gey smiled as he ran his hand through the fur of the dog lying on his legs.
— Gey is one part, not two different parts.
Zia tilted her head at the image of her Mistress.
— I like Gey.
Agony grabbed her by the waist and pulled her close.
— Don't like him too much either.
This made the little witch giggle. Gey smiled too. He was still tired from the last 48 hours. The wound on his flank and stomach were still very sore, but the advantage of Gorgon's blood was that it had not only brought him back to life, but had also regenerated most of his body. He would still have the mark of his Cerberus' hand on his flank but he didn't mind, it was like a mark of belonging. His head also hurt from the fusion between Gwen and Griffin. He still had to adjust. Physically he had also changed slightly. He had kept the demon's black eyes but a translucent black like Gwen's irises. His canines were a bit sharper and his nails were more like retractable claws. Fortunately, he had kept neither the skin colour nor the tail, though he would miss the latter. He turned his head towards the adjacent bed. The female Cerberus lay there, still unconscious. He hadn't had time to think about the situation, but when Melvan entered, it was clear to him. How had he not seen it? He watched Melvan carefully. The way he moved around the room, the way he greeted him without looking at him because his attention was on the female. He noticed the doctor's hand on the bedpost as if he couldn't help but want to be closer, to touch her. His brain was racing.
— I'd like to talk to Tragedy and Man. But I also need you to stay here.
He ran a hand under the big dog's muzzle and raised the hound's head to him.
— And I need you to answer me too, Misery.
The big dog sighed and turned into a black cloud. The man pressed himself against Gey, who hugged him. Since his 'death', Misery had been struggling to regain his balance. He didn't want to leave him. He needed to touch him all the time to reassure himself. When Gey was out of his sight, the Cerberus panicked. Tragedy had explained to him that it was the fact of having lost his companions suddenly. The bonds had been broken so fast and so hard that he had really lost his mind. He needed time to heal. Staying in canine form helped him to distance himself from human feelings. Gey continued to stroke Misery unconsciously. He felt his Cerberus' still latent pain and accepted it while helping him to heal. Tragedy and Man arrived after Agony sent a text message. Tragedy smiled.
— Is this a council of war? Again?
Gey smiled.
— Sort of.
Man leaned against the wall, arms crossed.
— What's on the agenda?
Gey lifted his chin in Melvan's direction. Melvan blinked.
— Me?
— And her.
Melvan turned to the Cerberus.
— I don't understand.
— Before I explain my idea, I'd like some clarification from Tragedy and Man.
