"Eyes on the target, engaging on command" Ghost spoke in his coms, awaiting a reply from his captain.

"Engage on your own risk Lieutenant. I want updates in case any major thing goes south"

Ghost breached in the door, starting to fire at the guards standing in the hostile stronghold. You walked downstairs, aiming at any possible threat as a large stash fell into your view. "Got the stash ready to blow this fucker up"

"Set the charge i'll keep watch of the door, make sure your terminal scope is on, its going to get smokey in here". You fiddled with the explosive charge before planting it against the cold metal of the stash, the steady clicking noise telling you that the explosive is hot and ready to explode on command.

"Heavy guards are coming in! Get ready to blow this fucker up Python we don't have much time".

Searching for safety behind one of the lower walls you waited for Ghost to give you the O.K to continue. The second the signal came through, an ear deafening explosion echoed through the big empty room. It took you a good second to come back to your senses and start firing towards the enemy guards that stormed in through the door Ghost was guarding just a second ago. Thick smoke filled the air making it hard to breathe even through the balaclava.

To your luck the terminal did its job in telling you where the enemies are, giving you a much-needed advantage.

It took round over round to clear the enemies, just as you shot the last bullet inside your magazine the smoke cleared and left behind was a mountain of dead bodies, blood spilling over the ground to your feet. Ghost was nowhere to be found.

"Ghost how copy?" You spoke into your coms, trying to find him anywhere in the room. A body laid next to the entrance, moving just the slightest bit.

Just as the iconic masked turned in your direction you noticed that it was Ghost that laid there, coughing uncontrollable.

"Ghost, you broken?". going up the stairs quickly, you sat down next to him, scanning his body for any signs of larger injuries.

His masked has a large hole on the side, his blood soaking the fabric, alarmingly quickly.

"I have to take the mask off Ghost, It looks serious.". He didn't argue the moment, letting it happen hoping that the misery of the Ghost getting shot down would end him.

Your hands fiddled with the fabric for a second, pulling it off his head being greeted with the bare skin and black face paint that surrounded the area around his eyes.

The cut on his cheek looked pretty bad, it went from the corner of his lips up to his ear.

Pulling the med kit off his tactical belt, you got to work cleaning the wound good, putting a bandage around it as good as humanly possible.

"Have you got hurt anywhere else?". Yet again he didn't say anything, just leaned up against the wall trying to stand up. "Just the thigh I will be fine"

"Sit down and let me handle it". Ghost stopped in his movement, meeting your gaze.

The large of his body fell back to the ground, sitting leaned against the wall waiting for your next step.

"take the pants off i need to reach the wound." Yet against he just looked at you but opened up his pants pulling his one leg out as much as he needed to. He was wearing a tight pair of black boxer shorts that showed more than you needed to see. Pain spread over his face as the bullet still moved inside his warm flesh.

"I am just going to bandage it, i am not practised enough to take the bullet out myself." Quickly wrapping a bandage around the damaged leg you made sure to apply enough pressure to the wound to have the blood flow stop for the moment, to get him ready enough to move all the way back to the camp.

Quickly he pulled his pants up and put on another spare balaclava on that had a painted white skull imprinted on it.

"no word to the others sergeant this stays between us. Grab the things inside the stash and get moving we don't have all day."

Nodding you went back down, grabbing the notes and intel that were hiding in between something much larger. A black Taq-56 that had a good few attachments on it and a sniper riffle also as black as the night. Grabbing both you put them around your shoulder, moving up to Ghost helping the older to his feet before escorting him outside.

luckily his other leg was perfectly fine making it easier for you to stabilize his steps over the hot sand. The walk back was longer than you had wanted it to take. grabbing the coms on your shoulder again hoping to have at least any signal to inform Price over the current situation.

"Python to Bravo 0-6 how copy" being met with statics on the other end you had no other choice than to continue the path.

"Bravo 0-6 to Python how copy?" The few words of your captain send a shiver of hope through your system. "Captain! We need immediate exfil. Ghost was hit, in a pretty bad shape. The blood loss and the heat are getting to his head. We are 3 clicks away from the camp"

"Copy that, I'll send Gaz and a medic in an exfil helicopter right now. Keep tight"

Ghosts current state got worse by the second, from all the moving the bandage around his thigh lost the grip and let the blood soak it alarmingly fast. Yet he was still holding on. Taking firm steps as good as possible with your help, the free hand around his rifle. It was quiet around you and him, just the air still blowing sand in all directions.

The helicopter hovered over the ground as close to the sand as possible. The medic taking Ghost in already bringing him to a corner shutting some curtains to handle his wounds in Privacy. Kyle walked towards your directions. Helping you inside the helicopter that took off just seconds after.

"Hey Rookie, you alright?". Without questioning it, he took off the heavy gear and the weapons you had secured from the stash. Putting them aside being more worried about your state at this moment. "I'll be alright just need some water and a shower". Looking down to your feet, your pants and shirt were covered in blood that had now turned brown on the fabric.

The smell was horrible. Sweat, blood and exhaustion mixed. Kyle didn't really care, handing you a bottle of water which you gulped down in just a few seconds after finally taking off the mask and the googles. His eyes met your gaze, they looked warm and loving. It was the care that you required in such moment.
