In love

Azazel gazed at Tom Riddle who was still looking at her with those perfect, alluring, hopeful eyes. Jerk.

"I..." Azazel trailed off and searched for words she wanted to say. She wanted him to be immortal, she wanted him to be with her forever, she wanted him for  herself. But that's not right. It's not right to anyone. That was selfish of her to think.

"No Tom. Immortality is not a blessing, it's a curse that was bestowed upon me. I had no choice but to accept it. But you are not like that. You have a life to live, titles to achieve, places to visit. You have a life to live to your fullest and achieve everything you want" Azazel smiled softly and placed her hand on his.

"I want to see you achieve your dream of conquering the wizarding world, in a good way" Tom opened his mouth to say something but Azazel stopped him.

There was silence for a few seconds as Azazel prepared herself to say the next words. It hurt her being to even think of it but she had to say them.

"I want to see you have a family, get married, have kids. I really want to see you have a family, one you never had, one you always wanted but never would accept it." Azazel finished and she could see the shock on Tom's face. He was processing her words and she smiled softly.

A few minutes of comfortable silence followed as they sat there in each other's presence, knowing they were safe with eachother.

"I don't want a family. I don't want to die. I want to live until there are no more days left, until the sun can't rise anymore. Trust me El, that's what I want" Tom said in a raspy voice and Azazel looked at him with a tired look.

"Tell me Azazel, wouldn't it be nice to have someone with you forever? Wouldn't it be nice to know that someone else is also travelling the same path as you, living an immortal life. And wouldn't it be great if that someone was me? Your Tom like you always say." Tom smirked and Azazel pulled her hand away from his.

There he was. Back to his own self. Manipulative bastard. Azazel felt her blood go cold and shivers ran down her spine when he said 'your'.

Did he just accept that he was hers? Did he just say that he will be with her forever? Was it a promise? No it isn't. He just doesn't want her as a hurdle in his plans.

"It wouldn't be Riddle. It wouldn't be nice. Especially not great if it is you, I'd rather live alone forever."

What a lie it was. Lies were interesting little things. The more you keep telling them, you yourself start believing it's the truth. But they are also poison to your being. The more you start filling your life with them, the more poison you consume. It consumes you from the inside and you won't know which part of your life is true and which is a lie. Because, at a point, everything becomes a lie. Everything.

To Azazel, lies were poison. She filled her long life with them. Everytime she felt something she shouldn't, she filled her feelings with lies and burried them below the poison of lies. It burned her from the inside out, spreading through her veins all over her body. She sometimes saw black veins on her body, she believed it to be the lies she has been feeding herself over the years.

This was one of the lies too. One of the small lies that made her feel better. Because if someone told her later in her life, that she had said she didn't want Tom Riddle with her forever, she would laugh on their face and say they were mad to think she said that. Because, Azazel did want him forever. She needed him, wanted him, in every way possible.

"No you wouldn't" Tom said in a lazy tone and lopsided smirk. It was unimaginable how he changed his demeanor every single second. One minute he was terrified and scared and now that it is about tormenting Azazel with his words, he was more than happy.
