What they call love

Azazel stared at the plate of food placed infront of her. She simply did not want to eat. But no one would understand that. Especially Layla. The women was sickeningly nice and Azazel did not like it when she always gave her pitiful looks and did things to make her feel better. But nothing made her feel better. It all made her feel empty and lost.

"Love" her train of thoughts broke as the soothing voice reached her eardrums. It was filled with so much warmth, love, care and all the tenderness in the world. Her eyes slowly travelled from the plate of food to her lover. "Yes?" She answered, eyes blinking with a dumb look.

She could see him sigh lightly and his eyes travelled to her food and then to her.

"You are not eating again love." She blinked at that and looked at the plate of food and then others who were staring at her in the dining table. "Oh" she breathed out and looked at Tom. "I... I don't feel like it." She said and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

"You said the same thing yesterday."

It had been two days in Layla's place and Azazel has not been eating properly, she was always lost in her own thoughts and even the most basic things seemed hard to do. Her body was too weak to do any traveling and hence they had to stay for a few days.

"It's because I don't really feel like eating." She repeated and picked on the dead skin around her nails. Tom stood up, the wooden chair scraping against the marble flooring. He walked closer to her and held his hand out. Azazel stared at it and looked up at him, eyebrows furrowed and confusion lacing her features.

"Take it." She took his hand and he pulled her up and his other free hand grabbed the plate. Tom led her outside and into the small garden. "What are you doing?" Azazel mumbled in a small voice as he made her sit on the small swing there. He sat beside her and the plate was placed on his lap as he scraped some food with the spoon and placed it before her lips.

"Eat" he almost demanded and Azazel gaped at him. She opened her mouth and he gently fed her, afraid he'll hurt her if he was too fast. Azazel stared at him as he concentrated and fed her slowly. His eyes was squinted and his nose crinkled as his tongue was stuck between his teeth.

A small smile made its way to Azazel's colourless lips and she chewed happily. The food was delicious too, or maybe it was just him feeding her. It made everything hundred times better. He made everything hundred times better.

"How did you eat now?" He asked, a proud look on his handsome but bruised face. She looked down at the plate and the food was gone. She ate it all. She hadn't realised.

"Thankyou." She said softly and the small smile played on her beautiful face. "Anything for you love." He said and watched as colour rose to her cheeks and she looked down. Azazel hated herself in such moments, he made her feel all stupid over a stupid nickname and she hated it. She could hear him chuckle and his hand reached out and caressed her cheek.

"Tom.." She said quitely and leaned into his touch. He sensed the distress in her voice and the way it shook, the small breath that left her when she said his name was enough to make him realise she was about to cry. He placed the plate down and moved closer to her.

His hands cradled her face and made her face him. Her emerald eyes met his and she was lost in the never ending ocean that seemed to know her every single movement and what they meant. Her breath hitched as his eyes scanned her face and then searched her glossy ones. Even when they were sitting, he was taller than her, very at that. He had grown so much and she didn't even realise it.
