Make it a home

You know the feeling you get when you are going to do something for the first time? The excitement, the curiosity, the small, very little, flickering fear that something might go wrong, nervousness, the butterflies in your stomach, the cartwheels your stomach does, the giddiness. Everything.

Azazel felt everything. As much as she told herself this was just one of those casual going out with Tom Riddle days, she couldn't help but feel like this was different.

It was their first date.

A date.

An official date. With Tom Riddle. He had asked her to pack for a week. Which means, it's a long date. A vacation?

A vacation.

She was freaking out. He will be here in an hour. She was not dressed. She had packed her clothes the night before. Thank God.

She ran a hand through her hair and stared at the two dresses that lay on the bed infront of her. She had to choose. Fast. No one was there to help her. Valerie would have her head slayed if she woke her up at this hour.

She sighed and looked at herself in the mirror. Her hair was flowing down her shoulders to her waist. Light makeup adorned her features and she bit her lip. She wore nothing but one of Tom's shirts and as much as she wished to stay in it forever, it was not an option.

"Lord help me." She grumbled and stared at the white frock with puff hands and then at the baby blue one with full hands.

Full hands. Covers the scars better.

She removed Tom's shirt rather grumpily and put on the baby blue frock.

Azazel gave an unsatisfied look at herself in the mirror. She can never look beautiful like the other girls. Always lagging in some way.

A part of her always believed Tom had an interest in her because of her power and intelligence alone. She didn't know if it was a good thing or a bad thing. He didn't judge by looks but his thoughts of using her to his own good also did not sit well with her.

A knock coming from her door snapped her out of her torturous thoughts and she gulped. Must be him. She checked in the mirror one last time and grabbed the small bag which contained her clothes and the other things she needed.

She took slow steps towards the door and opened it.

He was looking elsewhere and his head snapped towards the door. Azazel tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and gave a weak smile.

He looked gorgeous as usual. Tom wore a white dress shirt with kaki pants and a cloak hung from his shoulders. His hair was not the usual strictly gelled type. He had let it fall freely on his forehead and a few strands reached till his eyebrows.

His eyes. Oh dear lord. His eyes were light sky blue balls which stared at her with the twinkle and a million galaxies in them. They expressed everything he felt and she took it all in. The adoration, admiration, care, love, everything.

"Hi." She squeaked out and he cocked a brow and his lips twitched upwards.

"You look absolutely gorgeous Azazel." He said with a small smile and pecked her glossy lips. Azazel's heart skipped a beat, then another and another. She was sure it stopped at a point. She stared wide eyed and her lips parted as heat rose to her cheeks tinting them with a light shade of beautiful pink.

"Thankyou." She breathed out and he nodded. She accepted the complement, for once. Something in the way he said it made her believe she was really gorgeous. He believed she was beautiful. The way his eyes crinkled and the dimple showed when he said it made her believe it and give a smile of her own.

"Shall we?" He extended a hand and she took it, carrying her bag with the free hand. He stopped and grabbed her bag, holding it along with his as she stared at him. "I can--" he interrupted her. "I want to." She closed her mouth and let him do whatever he wanted.

"Can I ask where we are going?" She asked and he looked down at her as they stepped out of the manor. "You will see in a few seconds. Hold tight." Azazel gripped his hand harder and they were both turned and twisted in all directions.

"I will always hate apparating." She steadied herself and tamed down her hair.

"Where--wow" Azazel's eyes widened and she stared in awe at the scenic beauty layed out infront of her.

They stood upon acres of grasslands with a few flowers scattered here and there. A river flowed unusually calm, the rippling sounds a soothing music to her ears. Centred among all this was a small white house. It was beautiful. So beautiful and peaceful. She inhaled the fresh air and a smile graced her lips. She loved it.

"I love it Tom." She said looking up at him to find him already looking at her. She smiled brighter infecting him with it. "I'm glad." He said and gave a kiss on her forehead. "Go on. It's our home." He gestured towards the small house and she once again stared in awe, this time at him.

"Our home?" He nodded with a smile and she felt the pressure build behind her eyes. "You actually went out of your way and bought a house Tom Riddle?" Her voice cracked and she struggled to keep the tears at bay. "Where did you even find this place? Oh lord help me."

She wiped away the tears and jumped into his arms. Her arms circled around his neck and his snaked her waist, lifting her off the ground. She kissed his cheeks and brushed their noses together.

"You are such an adorable thing!" She cried and he scrunched his nose making her laugh. "I love you unicorn! So much! So so much! I think I will suffocate from all the love I have for you if you keep knocking me off my feet by doing all these adorable things." He kissed her nose and rested their foreheads against eachothers'.

"That won't be a very bad death now, will it?" Azazel giggled and shook her head. "Not at all. I will die a satisfied woman." He smiled at that and put her down.

"Now run, make the house a home."
