So phase 2 was in play, after meeting back up with Ryker and Fafnir, we sailed over, while I flew ahead scouting for the island and to see if Hiccup has taken the bait which I'm pretty sure he has. Fafnir and I soared through the clouds watching in case Hiccup and the other riders are around.
Once the island with the Eruptodon came into view, I used my spyglass, to notice Hiccup Nighty Fury Toothless walking around. A did notice a couple of the other riders, search the place, unaware they were being watched themselves, and not by me.
It was long until I see the riders be knocked to the ground which I assumed to be by a stun dart. This will give us time to take the Eruptodon, while these Defenders of the Wing are distracted with Hiccup and the others. I and Fafnir fly back towards Viggo's ship, landing on the ship. And dismounting Fafnir, I turned to Viggo who was standing alongside Ryker, waiting for my return.
Making my way over, " alright, it seems that the Defenders of the Wing, have currently seen Hiccup and the other riders as an acquaintance of ours like you said, Viggo. Currently, the riders are unconscious at the moment, which will give us a bit of extra time, to grab for the Eruptodon, as I'm sure these Defenders will be too preoccupied with Hiccup and the others, as scouts for you, Viggo, unaware of our true objective."
Viggo smirked "thank you, my dear"
As Ryker grunted in agreement, as he and the hunters walk away for final preparations, as we were not too far from the island, it was just myself and Viggo and of course Fafnir.
"Viggo, I was just thinking, do you want me to assist you in retrieving the Eruptodon, or do you want me to hang back and keep my eyes on Hiccup and these Defenders? As myself and Fafnir could be the bait, for when you guys head to the Rider's base, I'll sed a few acid blasts Hiccup's way and lead them to the false ship."
Viggo stood there, collecting his thoughts "I appreciate the advice my dearest but I think it would be best if you stick with me, as you have a way with these beasts, and I would appreciate the assistance in retrieving the Eruptodon"
I blushed at the compliment and rubbed the back of my head, still after all these years, I still struggle with retrieving praise.
"So how exactly are we going to retrieve the Eruptodon," I asked,
My beloved chuckled, it felt like the whole world stood still for a moment when he laughs.
"All in good time my dearest"
Some time had passed as I, Viggo, Ryker and the hunters arrived at the volcano where the Eruptodon resides, thankfully Hiccup and the others are on the other side of the island. One of the hunters fired a Dragonroot arrow, which bounced off the Eruptodon's thick scales. It growled aggressively now agitated. This surprised me as unlike gronckles, Eruptodons feel the effects of Dragonroot, but the arrows we have aren't strong enough, and we can't get close enough without falling into lava.
"Now what" I hear Ryker grumble, Viggo was currently thinking, as was I. The Eruptodon love lava if we somehow get the Eruptodon by us we could get it with the dragonroot, but we need to do this quickly.
"Fafnir do you think you tusks can dig up this ground." Fafnir protrudes his tusks and dug them into the rock, with Fafnir's strength, a deep trench was forming.
I noticed the lava flow was quite high, so if I can get the lava in the Fafnir trench we can get it to follow us.
"Fafnir I need you to dig a trench all the way to the opposite side of where the ship is, starting from here", I said in a hushed tone, right near the edge of the volcano. Fafnir didn't need to be told twice.
