The rest of the day was the same: the teachers would say my name, I would raise my hand, and the whispers would come. God, I wish my brothers were normal. Noah was in one of my classes, but he skipped it, thank the gods.

It was the end of the day. I ended up eating lunch in the library, and the boys seemed to ignore it.

Now I was walking to the car that had the three brothers and their asshole of a friend. They were just laughing about something stupid.

Hey, Chlo, how are you doing?" Luca looked up at me.

Okay, but I'm really tired and already have some work that I need to do," I said, getting in the back seat of the car yet again next to Noah.

"Well, one problem, and that is our dear brother wants to see you for not sitting with us at lunch." God, I hate these rules; they are so unneeded.

"Okay, I will go there first then." The possible punishments were running through my head, only to be brought out of it by a pain in my ribs. "Noah, can I please have the pills when we get home?"

"Yeah, fine, how many do you need?" He asked hushly, looking out the window to not show he was talking to me.

"Um, two should be fine for now; thank you, I guess." We both kept looking out the window until we got home.

Finally, we pulled into the driveway and got out of the car.

going inside and straight to Andres office, softly knocking on the door, soon followed by a 'come in'

"Hey, you wanted me to see you?" I walked in slowly, still not knowing what would happen.

"Yes, look, Chloe, I know that it is hard to adapt this quickly, but please follow our rules; it's for your safety." He tried to look all tough, but I couldn't focus on that; I was just trying not to burst out on him.

just breath

fuck this

I stood up and yelled, "Look, it's cool and all that you guys are finally caring about me, but I did that all by myself, so yes, I do appreciate that I'm not following your stupid rules that I could care less about." His eyes turned dark after I was done yelling.

"Was that all?"

shit shit shit He is pissed, and it's my fault. Why the fuck would you run your mouth. You're going to get yourself hurt, fuck.

"You clearly have more to say, so say it." I looked up at him.

"i-im sorry, I didn't mean to yell. I was just, Shit, I'm sorry." I looked down, messing with my ring.

"Look, Chloe, I know you hate the rules; I had the same ones and I hated them too, but they keep you safe. Our company's comptition is ruthless; they would do anything to surpass us, and we don't want to see you hurt or worse, lose you again, so please just follow the rules to the best of your ability."

I felt a tear go down my cheek. Fuck crying just makes it worse. "And you don't have to eat lunch with your brothers. I'll take that rule off if you would like."

All I could do was nod. "Rule one, Chloe." Of course, verbal responses'

"Thank you, now may I go to my room? School tierd me out, and I have some work to do," I said, still looking down.

"Yes, dinner will be done at 7:30; don't tier yourself too much."

I just stood up at his response and walked out on my way to find Noah. I needed some pain meds, and now.

On my way down the hall, I noticed the twins and Noah out on the basketball court.

Making a b-line to the door that led out, Xander came out and hit my shoulder.

"Ow, what the heck?" He just looked at me, scoffed, and walked away. Who the fuck does tha-

The stab in my ribs was enough to snap me out of my thoughts and go out to the coart

"fe, fe Look, there is a cat in that tree," I said, trying to distract him from the game to get the ball. going for it, he turned around and swiped the ball to the other side of his body, causing me to trip and fall to the ground. "Shit scar, are you ok?" he bent down. We were playing basketball with a random ball we found after our fights. It was the second time we spent time together outside of the underground, still not knowing each other's real names. "Yeah, it was just a fall." He looked down at my stomach, where I didn't realize the shirt rode up. "Scar, what are those?" I stood up quickly, pulling the shirt down. "It's nothing, just from the fight tonight." He looked at me in disbelief. "They didn't get to hit you, so I'm asking again who the fuck did that." I sucked in a painful breath. "Dom." I said simply, "Dom, who the fuck is Dom?" His concerned face was now full of disgust. I knew he would hate me after he found out, "My father, that's why I'm always with Maya and Joe and not home; he kind of does this." He just sat there for a minute, then hugged me.

I zoned back in, noticing that I was now at the basketball court. "Hey Noah, can I talk to you real quick?" He looked at me, remembering the pills.

"Yeah, sure, one sec, guys." He quickly leads the way to where he was hiding them, going to his school bag.

"You had them the whole time!" I yelled at him.

"Yeah, so I wasn't going to send you to school high." I could only roll my eyes at his comment.

"Do you think Maya gave me those so I could get high?" He looked at me and laughed.

"Of course not; I think you manipulated her to give them to you." He gave me two, but I grabbed the bottle from him, hitting my side on the chair next to us.

"Fuck." He looked at me, then at my stombach.

"How bad this time?" Oh, so now he is worried.

"The word time had to stop being used a bit ago, and who's fault is that?" I looked at him.

"Well, how bad is it then if you need these so badly?" God, I hate him so fucking much.

"Enough that I blacked out during it, and when I was walking to the gym," he looked past me at the wall.

"Well, maybe you deserved i-"

"No fuck you, you of all people don't get to say that ok, you ruined me, you made it bad, you left me." Sh*t, he was mad now.

"Oh, I'm so sorry that I wasn't only worried about your perfect life. I had to get out of there and start over. I couldn't just fight and live in the gym. Not to mention, worrying about your ass was even worse. If I didn't have you in my life, I would actually be a decent human and not corrupt." Yep, definitely stuck a nerve.

"Oh, it's my fault. I'm sorry. I didn't pick my life. You didn't have to come up to me that night. I could have handled it. So maybe you should fix your problems and just turn around and walk away." he scoffed.

"Yeah, I bet those guys would have loved that, and you know what I will because, just like last time, I will walk away and you will get hurt." I started laughing.

"The ball is in my court; I may have mafia brothers who I don't know will hurt me or not, but I am also one of their biggest enemies, so yeah, I could get hurt, but guess what? I can hurt them more." He was just getting more annoyed.

"What the fuck is going on here?" sh*t we both turned around to see-
