Daniel pulled her hand from where it rested against the hilt of her rapier, lifting her fist to rasp against the door. A sleepy looking George let the front door open, looking down at Daniel with a slight hint of confusion and annoyance. "What are you doing here?"
"Lockwood told me to stop by the house, didn't he?"
"It's barely six in the morning." George scoffed back. "Whatever, come in." The boy pulled the door further open, letting the younger girl into the home. George started walking toward the stairs, turning his back on the brunette.
"Lockwood's in there," He pointed at an open doorway on his right, not even looking at Daniel. "I'm going back to bed." George yawned, climbing up the stairs and leaving Daniel on her own. The girl took a sharp breath, turning into the room George had pointed to and finding Lockwood sat on the couch with a magazine in his hand. He had on sweatpants and a white t-shirt, his hair messy on top of his head. Daniel couldn't help but think that this was an uncommon look for him.
"Good morning, Locks." Daniel smiled.
The brunet's head snapped around, his eyes trailing up her purple zip-up to the girl's face. "Locks?"
Daniel shrugged a nod. "Locks."
"What are you doing here so early?"
"You told me to stop by."
He smirked. "I didn't think you'd be around at six in the morning." Lockwood slid his magazine back onto the side table beside him.
"Well, I didn't want to be late." She quipped, watching as the boy stood up and walked over to Daniel.
"Now then, let's give you a tour of the house. Shall we?"
"Alright then." Daniel nodded, following the boy out of the library and into the hallway.

Daniel pulled a soft white throw pillow out of a cardboard box, placing it in with the others. At this point, she had a stack that went from the top to practically halfway across her bed in a u shape, leaving the middle open save for three or four. She liked the extra pillows because they gave a sense of warmth and comfort that blankets simply didn't. Plus, they were really fluffy. It reminded her of what she imagined it would be like to lay on a cloud. Daniel laid a blanket across the bottom of her bed, spanning from each side. The brunette jumped slightly when she heard Lockwood speak up from behind her. "That's a lot of pillows. You're not going to suffocate yourself in your sleep, are you?"
She turned around, seeing the brunet leaning on her doorframe. "Maybe I'm gonna suffocate you in your sleep. It's not like anybody would notice if a single pillow goes missing." The girl smirked, shrugging.
"Well then, I'll make sure to lock my door tonight." Lockwood quipped, grinning at the way he made Daniel chuckle.
The brunette stopped her laughter, biting down a grin. "I know how to lock pick." She swayed back and forth slightly.
"You do?" Lockwood let out a nervous chuckle. "Why did we hire you again?"
Daniel shrugged, shaking her head slightly and clicking her tongue. "I dunno. You're the one who wanted me here." Daniel flopped back on her bed, letting her back hit the soft mattress. Daniel patted the spot beside her, lightly lifting her head to look over to the brunet. Lockwood took slow steps, carefully sitting down beside the girl.
"Wants."
"Hmm?" Daniel's head fell against the mattress again, her eyes lightly shutting.
"You said wanted. Past tense." Lockwood cleared his throat. "I'm the one who wants you here."
