"You're right. No one will be surprised if I turn up dead."

Daniel's eyes fluttered open slowly, half lidded and lazy as she tried to defog her view.

"They've all been waiting for it. So put me out of my misery, by all means, but just let her go. I- Let them both go."

Daniel could hardly make out the voice, but she couldn't quite tell who it was. It was familiar though.

"They've got everything to live for. And they will not breathe a word of this, I swear. Winkman, listen to me. Look, I'm- I'm serious. I mean it. Do what you want with me, I don't care. No tricks, no lies. Do we have a deal?"

She could finally make it out, and she couldn't be more irritated at anyone in the world in this very moment. No fucking way was Anthony Lockwood trying to sacrifice himself for her. Again! What had she told him? That she wasn't going to let him die for her. Yet he still tried to pull this absolute shit

"I'll kill her last," Daniel felt a soft kick to her shoulder and couldn't do much other than lull her head to the side. Everything was still so fuzzy other than her distasteful mood toward Anthony. "So you don't have to watch."

There was a struggle against what Daniel could only assume was wood, and a slight grunt from beside her. Lucy. It had to be, right? She would've gotten grabbed as well when Daniel was tased, unless she ran for it. Not that Daniel would blame her.

"Wait- Wait!" Lockwood's voice raised slightly, almost cracking. "She's a Fittes agent, high ranked. They'll notice she's gone. She's- She's a legacy! Do you really want DEPRAC and Fittes poking around? They know that this is where she went- They'll- They're gonna come looking for her here."

"They can't do a thing." Winkman scoffed slightly, his voice going soft and quiet as he whispered to his wife.

Daniel was starting to wake up more, just as she heard Lucy grab something and yell. "Leopold, move!" Lucy got in front of Daniel, who got up with a bit of effort, and doused the couple in some sort of liquid. Lucy reached into her pocket, flicking open a lighter. "Take one step and I throw it." She threatened, clicking the flint against the metal and lighting a flame. The man stepped forward, causing Daniel to stumble a step back out of pure surprise. "Do not test me!" Lucy kept her voice raised. Daniel turned, noticing how Lockwood was tied to a chair and went to start getting him free.

"No, Julius!" Wilkman's wife grabbed him by the back of the shirt.

Daniel unhooked Lockwood's binds, helping him up and nearly stumbling into him. She was still a bit hazy from the tase to the neck, but everything was clearing up a bit. Not nearly as fast as Lucy was, which made her guess that she had gotten hit harder or longer by the weapon than Lucy.

"I'm coming for you, boy." Wilkman hissed as Lockwood started moving toward the door with Daniel and Lucy. "I'm gonna gut you. I'm gonna mince you!" Anthony stopped, grabbing a bottle and starting to pop the cork out. "And I'm gonna tear your skin off! You better run, boy!"

Lockwood threw the cork to the side and poured a line from where he was standing all the way to the door.

"I'm gonna count to ten! One! Two!" The trio went out the door, and ran.

"What the hell was that?" Lucy breathed out, once they were far enough away to take a break.

"Flo was right. Total psychos."
