Mordred charged the enemy in front of him, gripping his wooden sword and bringing it down with unbelievable force. The opponent, Gaston, yelped as he held his ground, blocking the attack with his own wooden sword."What the hell?!" Gaston cursed as he was forced back, barley blocking the attacks thrown his. Gaston tripped upon Mordred's last attack and looked up Mordred who raised his sword into the air.
"HAAA!" Mordred quickly turned around and parried a strike from Kay, before locking blades. Kay smirked as he pressed harder staring at Mordred's helmet. Mordred could barley hear the sound of footsteps before it was too late.
"AAHH!" Mordred cried out as Lancelot charged in from the side and hit Mordred in the side with his wooden spear. Mordred pushed Kay away before swinging his gauntlet fist down and breaking the wooden spear. He lifted his sword and brought it down. Lancelot quickly lifted the shaft of the spear and blocked the attack. Mordred punched Lancelot down to the ground, making the man groan as he held his stomach. "GAA!" Mordred growled as Kay struck his exposed back. Growling, Mordred quickly spun around and punch him across the face, sending the man flying. "GAAGH!" A strike to Mordred's gut made the young man loose his breath. He held his stomach and looked down at his attacker: Gaston who held his sword in both hands. Mordred stumbled back before growling and raising his sword up with one arm, ready to attack.
"That's enough."
Mordred stopped, lowering his sword and stood straight and turning to the onlooker. Guts stood outside the dirt arena, standing without his crutch. A bandage was still wrapped on his right forearm. Guts sighed, shaking his head as he walked up to the shorter man. Mordred barley reached his shoulders.
"Now what did you do wrong?" Guts asked as he crossed his arms.
"What?" Mordred hissed as he raised his head. Guts stared down at him with a raised eyebrow. "I did what you told me, beat the three of them and remain the last one standing."
"Ugh." Guts shook his head. "You knocked them down. But you also exposed yourself." Guts picked up Kay's dropped sword and used it to point at everyplace Mordred was hit. "You allowed yourself to be exposed and be hit three times. That's enough to kill you on the battlefield."
"But you do the same thing!" Mordred snapped, smacking the stick out of Guts's hand. "Mother showed me through magic! You do exactly what I do, exposing yourself allowing you to get hit!"
"You mistake my words." Guts said, raising his voice. "I wasn't talking about your fighting style." Guts said before raising his fingers and pushing Mordred back by the helmets eye sockets. "It was your helmet."
"My helmet?" Mordred hissed as he stabled himself. "The hells wrong with my helmet?!"
"It limits your vision. Merlin!" Guts shouted as he held a hand out. Pink light appeared in his hand before disappearing, leaving Guts's helmet in his hand. "See this visor on my helmet?" He asked, running a finger across the visor. "It allows me to see my sides so I know if an enemy approaches. Your helmet doesn't allow it, letting Lancelot and Gaston get two hits on you."
Mordred looked back at the three who started getting up. All groaning as they stood on their feet. Lancelot held his chest, still feeling the pain through his breastplate and Kay held his nose that was bleeding. Gaston was the lucky one.
"I can have a helmet made in your size if you can take this one off and let the blacksmith measure you." Guts said calmly, holding out a hand to Mordred. The younger smacked his hand away and stormed past Guts, hitting his shoulder and making him drop his helmet. "Or not asshole!"
